Intro

With the construction of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) underneath Woodlands Regional
Interchange, alteration works would be carried out to the existing bus interchange. A temporary
interchange is being constructed next to Woodlands MRT Station for the relocation of some or all of
the bus services currently serving Woodlands Regional Interchange.

railings design on top which are all painted in RED......Great to Note.

All shelters shall be of lightweight structure to give a sleek and elegant appearance. They shall
be robust to withstand all weather conditions.

Triangular shaped ceiling

Due to the rigidness of the triangle's shapes, high amounts of forces can be sustained
without deformation. Triangles are often used as trusses in bridges, or other support
structures in buildings. They can easily be fit together to provide strength and stability over a
wide area.

Civil engineers call asphalt a flexible pavement. As such, asphalt roads generally consist
of a thin layer spread over a gravel or stone base and sub-base. The layers rest over
compressed soil. When a large weight—like a bus—rests on the asphalt, the gravel or
stone base shifts.

In contrast, concrete surfaces may or may not have a base course between the pavement
and subgrade. When a large weight rests on concrete, the weight is distributed over a
relatively wide area of the subgrade. However, since concrete's surface is thicker than
asphalt, repairing concrete requires replacing the entire road, whereas repairing asphalt
requires only scraping off the top surface and relaying a new surface.

Safety Bollards:
Steel and concrete structures which reduce the severity of impact from errant vehicles. Painted in
grey, with a retroreflective yellow sheet and black arrows printed on the upper portion. Installed at
most bus stops with regular commuter traffic.

Improvement and problems

The only accessible route is by going up the multiple stairs though large enough for mass
passengers or shoppers to move up and down the stairs between the Woodlands Temporary
Bus Interchange and the Causeway Point ...... BUT inconvenient to those Elderly and the
Handicapped to reach out to Causeway Point Shopping Centre via the Bus Interchange.
