ARKHAM HORROR – THE CARD GAME – ROUND SEQUENCE

MYTHOS PHASE (Skip on Turn 1)


1. Place 1 Doom on Current Agenda
2. Check Doom
 If Threshold reached, remove all counters and Advance Agenda immediately
3. Each Investigator Draws 1 Encounter Card
 Reshuffle Encounter Deck if necessary
 Enemy: Engages with Investigator who drew it, unless specific Spawn instructions specify otherwise
 Treachery: Resolve and place in Encounter discard. Surge requires Investigator to draw again

INVESTIGATION PHASE (3 Actions per Investigator)


 Fight an Enemy
o Combat Test vs Enemy’s Fight value - You do not need to be Engaged with the Enemy
o Success deals 1 Damage
o Retaliate: If Investigator fails in Attacking this enemy and enemy is ready, it Attacks back
 Engage an Enemy
o Can Engage Enemies Engaged with other Investigators
 Evade an Enemy
o Agility Test vs Enemy’s Evade value
o Success Exhausts Enemy, and Engagement is broken
 Investigate Location (provokes Attack of Opportunity*)
o Intellect Test vs Shroud value of Location yields 1 Clue
o Clues can be used to advance the Act any time during Investigator’s Turn
 Travel to a New Location (provokes Attack of Opportunity*)
o First Investigator to visit Reveals Location and places specified number of Clue Tokens
o Connected Locations are listed at bottom of Current Location
o Any Enemies Engaged with Investigator move right along with them
 Draw 1 Card (provokes Attack of Opportunity*)
o If Weakness or Basic Weakness is drawn, resolve Revelation ability immediately
 Gain 1 Resource (provokes Attack of Opportunity*)
 Play Asset or Event by paying its Resource Cost (provokes Attack of Opportunity*)
o Events resolve and go to Discard pile
o Assets go to play area. Limits: 1 Ally, 1 Body, 1 Accessory, 2 Hands, and 2 Arcane slots
o Fast keyword Assets or Events do not actually cost an Action to play!
 Activate ➨ Ability (provokes Attack of Opportunity*)
o On in-play card you control, Encounter at your Location, card in Threat area, Act, or Agenda

*Note: Attacks of Opportunity do not Exhaust Attacking Enemy.

ENEMY PHASE
1. Ready, Non-Engaged Hunters move once towards nearest Investigator, Engaging on contact
2. Ready and Engaged Enemies Attack, dealing Damage & Horror simultaneously
3. Exhaust each Enemy as Attacks are resolved

UPKEEP PHASE
1. Ready all Exhausted cards simultaneously, and refresh Investigator markers
Note that Ready, Non-Engaged Enemies ALWAYS Engage Investigators at their Location
2. Each Investigator Draws 1 card and Gains 1 Resource. If Discards reshuffled, take 1 Horror.
3. Each Investigator must discard down to a Hand Size no larger than 8
4. Effects Active until End of Round expire
