Progress I have made during this week

(Don’t forget to provide a breakdown of time spent on each item listed)

● Watched videos on Youtube about HTML and building a portfolio (took notes on
HTML), practiced coding in HTML on Sublime Text 3, coded website, researched
about ways to publish the website, and published it with Github- 5 hours
● Read “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”- 30 min
● Working on journal 5- 1 hour

What I need to move forward with my Capstone (time, space, materials, contacts)
● I do not need any additional materials or space to move forward with my Capstone
● I need to use spend some time next week doing the following:
○ update my website with new content, presentation video, etc then republish
the updated version of my website
○ make the video for my presentation
○ work on creating a final drawing to add to my website with the time I have
leftover
● I might need to contact someone if I face another error in coding or publishing my
website. I do not need to contact anyone for the art portion of my project

Obstacles I have encountered and how I’ve moved forward:

● The main obstacle I encountered was realizing I should get my website done this
week because running into an error in coding can take a while to resolve
○ I moved forward by changing my plans and goals for this week. I am happy
that I decided to get my website done this week as learning to code in HTML
and publish the website took a while.
● I faced an error in my code that took me a really long time to resolve (the issue was
complicated and involved a previous project I had started interfering with the one I
had just created)
○ After a while of not being able to figure out what was causing the problem I
had to take a break so that I could try to figure it out again with a fresh mind.
Taking the break helped me find out what the problem was.

Obstacles I can foresee in my next steps:

● I might encounter an issue while updating and republishing the website, so I will try to
get the website done earlier in the week. This will give me buffer time to resolve any
issues that could occur.
● I do not expect to have any issues with the drawing portion of my project as I have all
the materials and resources that I need

The skills I’ve used and what I’ve learned:

● Coding the website and resolving the issues I faced required me to think critically to
find out what was causing the problem and how to resolve it
● I learned how to code in HTML, create a portfolio, and publish a website that anyone
can see using Github
● I also learned more about how take advantage of the psychology behind drawing
from “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”
My goals and deadlines for the next week:
● By Tuesday the 12th: to have got at least half of the way through a drawing that
allows me to practice what I learned from the book
● By Wednesday the 13th: to have the drawing done
● By Friday the 15h: have the website updated and complete will all necessary pictures
and the video

My evidence of progress. This includes but is not limited to: diagrams, screenshots,
photos, videos, rough drafts, schedules, meeting notes, mind maps, etc
