This 3-day regional training in Balkh, Afghanistan from June 3-5, 2013 aimed to provide guidance on controlling outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis A&E. The agenda covered investigating communicable disease outbreaks, introducing the relevant guidelines and surveillance procedures, case management for each disease, operation of oral rehydration points and cholera treatment centers, prevention and coordination methods, and concluded with a post-test and closing session.
