<REACTOR AREA SUBSTANCE HAZARDS>

NATURAL GAS

Natural gas is an invisible, odorless gas. Odorant added to natural gas gives it a repulsive
odor. If hydrogen sulfide is present, natural gas will have a mild, rotten-egg odor. Natural
gas is present in the Reactor piperack and at the Flare. Normally, you will not be exposed
to natural gas unless there is a leak.
Natural gas is potentially flammable and explosive.

<PRECAUTIONS>

• Observe permit regulations for hot work.

• Smoke only in approved areas.

• Use only approved lighters and matches.

• Be alert to ignition sources:

- welding/maintenance work
- vehicles
- pressure buildup
- static electricity
- any spark or open flame
