    Carbowax 400 is an additive used in finished polymers. It is an irritant and can cause eye and skin irritation. Precautions include wearing safety glasses, goggles, and impervious rubber gloves. In case of a fire, use dry chemical, alcohol foam or water fog to fight the fire, but do not use water as Carbowax will float and spread on water. If exposed, flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Wash skin with soap and water and seek attention if a rash develops. Remove anyone inhaling it to fresh air and provide oxygen if breathing is difficult. Ingestion is not expected to cause harmful effects.

    Carbowax 400 is used as an additive in finished polymer.

    <PRECAUTIONS>

    • Wear PPE:
    - safety glasses/goggles
    - impervious rubber gloves

    • Use dry chemical, alcohol foam or water fog to fight fires. Do not use water.
    Carbowax will float on water and spread.

    <FIRST AID - CARBOWAX 400 (POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL)>

    Hazard Effect Remedy

    • Eye contact. • Irritant. • Immediately flush eyes with large


    amounts of water for at least 15
    minutes.
    • Seek medical attention.
    • Skin contact. • Irritant. • Wash with soap and water.
    • Seek medical attention if rash
    develops.
    • Inhale. • Irritant. • Remove victim to fresh air.
    • Provide oxygen if breathing is
    difficult.
    • Ingest. • No harmful effects
    expected.
