FIRST AID
• Eyes Flush with water for at least 15 minutes, raising and lowering eyelids occasionally. Get
medical attention if irritation persists.
• Skin Thoroughly was exposed area for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing.
Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Get medical attention if irritation persists
• Ingestion If swallowed, if conscious, give plenty of water. Immediately call a physician or poison
Control center. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person
• Inhalation Remove to fresh air. Give oxygen if breathing is difficult; give artificial respiration if
breathing has stopped. Keep person warm, quiet, and get medical attention.
HEALTH EFFECTS
• Personal Precautions Wear safety glasses. Wear rubber or neoprene gloves if there is the
potential for repeated or prolonged skin contact. In situations where
exposure limits may be exceeded, a NIOSH-approved respirator is
advised.
• Environmental Precautions Dispose must be made in accordance with applicable federal, state
and local regulations.
• Spillages Absorb and containerize. Wash residual down to sanitary sewer.
Contact the sanitary treatment facility in advance to assure ability to
process washed-down material. For spills of multiple products,
responders should evaluate the MSDS’s of the products for
incompatibility with sodium hypochlorite. Breathing protection
should be worn in enclosed, and/or poorly ventilated areas until
hazard assessment is complete.
