At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. identify the properties of physical change and chemical change;
b. value the importance of physical and chemical change in daily living; and
c. distinguish physical from chemical change.

II. Subject Matter

A. Lesson Title: Physical and Chemical Change
B. Reference:
Aurora, M. 1998. Science and Technology 1:
Integrated Science Textbook for First Year. pp 48-50.
C. Materials: Projector, Laptop
D. Time Allotment: 1 hour

III. Activity/ Activity Proper

Students will answer directly and the group who will get the
correct answer will gain 5 points each picture.
C. Analysis
 Students will be asked with the following questions:
1. What have you observed? – Changes
2. How did it happen? – Through reaction
 Students will explain their answers briefly in the class.
D. Abstraction
 The teacher will ask the students what they know about physical
and chemical change.
 The teacher will discuss physical and chemical change through a
PowerPoint presentation.
 The teacher will also discuss the properties of the changes in
matter.
E. Application
 Pictures depicting changes in matter will be shown to the students.
 Students will identify each picture whether it undergoes a physical
or a chemical change.
 Students who can give the correct answers will receive five (5)
points.

IV. Evaluation
 Students will prepare ¼ sheet of paper.
 Students will be given 9 pictures of changes of matter to identify.
 Students will identify each picture whether it is chemical change or
physical change.

V. Assignment/Agreement
