    I want to attend GHP for visual arts because art is one of the only things that I genuinely enjoy.

    Art has been with me for my entire life and I want to grow to the next level by learning things that I can
    only learn by attending GHP. I hope that it will help me further gain confidence in my abilities and allow
    me to meet more people who are as passionate and serious about art as I am. As I mentioned before,
    art has been with me for as long as I can remember. However, I have been very unsure about where I
    want to take my passion until fairly recently because I have been told by many people that being an
    artist is a difficult path that does not guarantee a reliable source of income. Despite this, I have decided
    that I want to pursue art as a career and GHP will help me to find or decide what I want to be specifically
    within art.

    I believe that I should be selected for GHP because I’m willing to try new things. I want to try out
    new mediums, subject matters, and styles of art through this program so that I can fix my weaknesses
    and hopefully find something specific that I really love. I also have good work ethic and am organized. I
    don’t like to procrastinate and I have a habit of planning things out. I can also take a large work load and
    I don’t mind working for long periods of time as long as I can get all of my work finished. As for what I
    can contribute, I can contribute my enthusiasm. Although I’m not a loud social butterfly or particularly
    outgoing, art is something that I can’t shut up about and I enjoy talking to people about their techniques
    and ideas.

    Overall, I want to gain consolidation. I want to be able to know for sure that I have the abilities
    to be an artist as a job and not just as a hobby. I hope that being in a creative environment will inspire
    me and allow me to grow and change to become better.
