● Did the stories of our speaker/s affirm your future career plans? Why or why not?

- It helped to affirm my realistic future career plans of taking up a practical creative

job locally first before finding one overseas after college, and that my career
doesn’t exactly have to be 100% aligned with my future job. This is because I’m
still keeping an open mind about my future career plans, and my parents are
giving me support in any decision I may take, even suggesting that I try to find a
creative job abroad immediately after graduating or maybe even start my own
business despite being an aspiring Fine Arts program, and not being in the
Business Management program. Overall, I’m glad that the Alumni were able to
utilize what they learned during their time at Ateneo in their current careers,
despite not being 100% aligned with it. This only affirmed to me that the Fine Arts
program that I’m currently in does not define me and the careers that I may
pursue in the future. Rather, as a person that is continuously learning and picking
up new skills, this will only be a step for me toward my future career, in whichever
creative industry I may find myself in, or in perhaps a creative business I may
start.

● Do you still see yourself pursuing the current course you're taking? Why or why not?
- I still see myself pursuing my current course because it will help to equip me with
the necessary skills and knowledge that I need to find a creative job in any
industry, especially efficient presentation and communication using art and
design. If ever I feel like learning more, there are specializations I could learn
more about through Fine Arts electives, or I can hone my previously learned
skills from my prior school in senior high school through practice in my spare
time, academic breaks, and vacation. Perhaps I can even learn more skills by
trying out new mediums for creating art. Despite my access to all of these,
perhaps a more efficient way of honing my current skills would be pursuing a
course that focused on the exact career that I want to pursue would be better,
like the Digital Illustration and Animation or Computer Graphics and Animation
courses offered at Ateneo de Naga University.

● What steps do you need to make in order for your career-related goal to happen?
- While my parents are unlikely to allow me to study somewhere as far as Bicol, I
can still suggest this to them. They most likely will not allow me to pursue this
due to their lack of trust in my abilities as an independent person, so I will try to
be better in this regard in the chances that they will let me. But in the likelihood
that they will insist that I stay in my current course is high, I will instead try my
best to make use of my resources to learn and specialize in as many creative
skills as I can, especially those I’m particularly interested in.
