0084-K790)”.
In this section, the procedures for installing the following drivers are described.

[86] Display driver

[87] Application Accelerator
[88] Touch panel driver
[89] High Speed Serial Bus(HSSB) driver
[90] MDI key driver

The installation of drivers for Windows NT must follow the fixed order. You must install
these drivers in the above order.
Following procedures will show the installation of 1. Display driver, 2. Application Accelerator
and 4. HSSB driver. Please refer to “[5] Driver installation for Open CNC system” for other
driver’s installation.
As for the installation process, the Administrator privilege is required.

III. HSSB Driver

The “Unit” has High Speed Serial Bus (HSSB) Type 2 interface internally. PC part I/O port
address used at the HSSB interface is decided automatically when the driver is installed.
Each CNC which has HSSB interface is given “Node” number and distinguished by node
numbers in Windows. This is based on the design of HSSB multi-connection, i.e. one Unit
connects with multiple CNCs via HSSB, and it is also true for the Unit which has only one
HSSB interface (its node number equals to 0).
In case that the Unit is configured as the HSSB multi-connection using the PCI extension unit,
the Node number is assigned as 0 for the optical socket mounted on the PCB of the Unit, and
then 1, 2, ... for PCI HSSB board according to the order of the PCI slot number.

1. Driver installation

[100] Close all application programs. You must close the Control Panel if it is running.
[101] Open Explorer.
[102] Open [HSSB] - [Nt40] folder at CD-ROM. Right-click hssb.inf file and click [Install]

[107] Select CNC connected to the HSSB interface from the [CNC Type:] list box.
[108] Select “Use PCI” from the [I/O Port Address:] list box.
[109] Click [OK] button to close this window.
[110] In case of HSSB multi-connection, go back to step 6. and repeat these steps for each
node.
If a node is not attached to the HSSB interface, select “Disable” from the [I/O Port Address:]
list box. Just after driver installation, I/O port address is set to 280 - 28F for node-0, “Disable”
for other nodes as the default value.
[111] Click [Close] button.
A dialog window which asks you to restart Windows will open.
[112] Remove the disk from CD-ROM drive. Click [Yes] button to restart Windows NT.
