CHEONGSANDOISLAND

Cheongsando Island is an island off the south

coast of the Republic of Korea, being the main
island of Cheongsan-myeon, Wando County,
South Jeolla Province. It is called Cheongsando
('green mountain island') because it remains
green through four seasons. It has long been
called Seonsan or Seonwon in that the Taoist
hermit dwells on the island because of the
beautiful view which creates a harmony with the
clear and blue archipelago.

Cheongsando, where the slow scenery of blue

sea, Blue Mountain, flat rice field, stone wall
and haenyo and unique traditional culture of the
island mingle, has been recognized
internationally for its value and was designated
as the first slow city in Asia.

Designated as the first Slow City in Asia,

Cheongsando in Wando-gun hosts the annual

Slow Walk used to be a trail for the mobility of the
island residents. It was named so, in that walkers
naturally get to slow down, touched by the scenic

JAPAN
Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji, Japan, is one of the most famous mountains in the world.
Mount Fuji is a composite cone, or stratovolcano. Composite cones,
formed by violent eruptions, have layers of rock, ash, and lava.

Mount Fuji is the single most popular tourist site in Japan, for both
Japanese and foreign tourists. More than 200,000 people climb to the
summit every year, mostly during the warmer summer months. "Huts"
on the route up the mountain cater to climbers, providing
refreshments, basic medical supplies, and room to rest. Many people
start climbing Mount Fuji at night, as better to experience sunrise from
the summit—Japan, after all, is nicknamed "the Land of the Rising
Sun." The sunrise from Mount Fuji has a special name, Goraiko.

Mount Fuji has been a sacred site for practicers of Shinto since at
least the 7th century. Shinto is the indigenous faith or spirituality of
Japan. Many Shinto shrines dot the base and ascent of Mount Fuji.
Shinto shrines honor kami, the supernatural deities of the Shinto faith.
The kami of Mount Fuji is Princess Konohanasakuya, whose symbol is
the cherry blossom. Konohanasakuya has an entire series of shrines,
called Segen shrines. The main Segen shrines are at the base and
summit of Mount Fuji, but there are more than 1,000 across all of
Japan.
Mount Fuji is in my list of dream destinations because of how much I

Shibuya Crossing is one of Tokyo's most

recognizable sights, pictured in countless films,
magazines and blogs. During its busiest times, an
estimated 1,000 to 2,500 people forge their way
across this intersection every two minutes, enough
to quickly fill up a football stadium.
The phenomenon gave rise to its nickname
"scramble," as pedestrians cross from all
directions.
Shibuya Station opened back in 1885, but its
famous crossing only took its modern-day form in
1932 when the Tokyu Toyoko Line opened and
made Shibuya a key stop between the neighboring
port city of Yokohama and Tokyo's central
business hub.
The sprawling scramble intersection just outside
Shibuya Station is an embodiment of Tokyo itself:
action in all directions. Three huge television screens
mounted on the buildings facing the intersection flash
all day, while the rest of the area is covered with
lights, advertisements, and more lights. To fully
experience the beautiful view of the Shibuya
Crossing, it is best to look it up from at top which
there are several places to do this including the
shopping centers and café that are towering over the

surroundings is so mesmerizing to view because of
the people and lights which makes the place lively at IN TOKYO,

Akihabara, also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a

district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many
electronics shops. In more recent years, Akihabara has gained
recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan)
culture, and many shops and establishments devoted to anime
and manga are now dispersed among the electronic stores in
the district.
The character of Akihabara has constantly changed over the decades
and continues to do so. In the last decade Akihabara has emerged as a
center of Japanese otaku and anime culture, and dozens of stores
specializing in anime, manga, retro video games, figurines, card games
and other collectibles have filled the spaces between the electronics
retailers.
In addition to shops, various other animation-related establishments
have become popular in the area, particularly maid cafes where
waitresses dress up and act like maids or anime characters, and manga
cafes (manga kissa), a type of internet cafe where customers can read
comics and watch DVDs in addition to having access to the internet.
Akihabara is one of my favorite among all of the list of dream
destinations because of my liking for anime and manga which
technically makes me an otaku; walking around this place would be full
of fun and excitement because of all the things I would want to buy or
see related to my obsession for anime. Having my friends beside me and
going to this place is what I would say friendship and travel goals as all
of us love anime and dream to go to Akihabara. For those who love
anime and manga, Akihabara is the place you must go to.

SANFRANCISCO

AMERICA
San Francisco, city and port, coextensive with San Francisco county,
northern California, U.S., located on a peninsula between the Pacific
Ocean and San Francisco Bay. It is a cultural and financial centre of the
western United States and one of the country‟s most cosmopolitan
cities.
Going along with the diversity of food, San Francisco is a very diverse city in
terms of culture. It is home to people of all background and cultures which greatly
influence its art, food, fitness, fashion and museums. The city is known for its
great shopping districts.

San Francisco holds a secure place in the United States‟ romantic

dream of itself—a cool, elegant, handsome, worldly seaport whose
steep streets offer breathtaking views of one of the world‟s greatest
bays. According to the dream, San Franciscans are sophisticates whose
lives hold full measures of such civilized pleasures as music, art, and
good food. San Francisco has beautiful scenic views which is the
reason I would want to go there because I love taking pictures of
wonderful and beautiful views of the sea as well as buildings and
nature.

FUN FACT:
San Franciscans have historically considered their city to be laissez-faire and open-minded, which is probably
why homosexuals have felt comfortable there. The affluent Castro district (technically Eureka Valley near Twin
Peaks) has attracted gays and lesbians from throughout the country, becoming perhaps the most famous gay
neighbourhood in the world. Its streets are adorned with elegantly restored Victorian homes and landmarks
highlighting significant dates in the struggle for gay rights. It is said that no local politician can win an election
without the gay community‟s vote.
