How is Magma formed?

As I choose a video for my activity that answers the question on how magma is formed, I
observed and watched one video that clearly states or shows the formation of magma which the
speaker firstly talks about the rock cycle in which magma is involved in through this cycle or
process. Before discussing about the formation of magma in the video it is important also to
know the nature of magma. Magma is mostly found beneath the surface of the Earth and is a
molten or semi molten rock that forms other rocks or igneous rocks upon cooling or
crystallization and the substance that we call lava is the molten material or is the molten magma
which cools upon the surface of the earth. There are some factors that influence in the formation
of magma which are temperature, pressure, volatile or water content as well as composition that
causes magma to form in different ways. Magma can be formed due to melting or the process of
melting; as the temperature increases within the earth’s mantle this causes rocks to melt that
generates magma. Pressure also plays a big role in the formation of magma in which we have
what we call decompression melting which is the decreasing of pressure as solid mantle rocks
move upwards in the surface which affects the hot mantle rock in forming magma. Volatiles or
water is another factor which involves realizing of water to its surrounding or surrounding rocks
as it subducts underneath that lowers the melting point that causes rocks to melt and generate
magma. The composition of some rocks, in both the mantle layer and the crust melt at only in
exceptional circumstances. Since some rock minerals have different melting temperatures than
others, it is normal for partial melting to take place which also helps in generating magma.

There some tectonic plates or environments that magma originates from such as divergent and
convergent plates as well as hotspot which are areas in the earth that exist over a mantle plume
which the hotspot doesn’t move while the plates move and in these plate or environment it
consist or involves decompression and wet melting and as well as partial melting can be involved
in forming magma as the plates move. This is my overall summary or understanding of the video
on the formation of magma.
IV. CLOSURE/SYNTHESIS/REFLECTION:

The focus question: What are the challenges that will help me and how can I manage to
overcome them and be a responsible individual?

- Life is indeed like a rollercoaster which you can choose to enjoy and learn from the
experience or resent every moment in your journey. In our life there are some challenges
that we face and there’s no doubt that I do too and some of the challenges that I have
encountered in my life is having major setbacks and experiencing failure as I progress;
having to face trauma or not having a happy and enjoyable childhood was hard and
affects me as a person till this day but I’ve come to realize that these challenges that I
encounter plays a big role in my development as a person or individual, the challenges
that I face in my life remind me that I’m strong and makes me strive to be better or
improve as a person and learn to be mature or responsible as I grow or develop. I manage
to overcome these challenges as I look for a brighter side in my life and seek compassion
from others or having a sense of gratitude because of the reason on having lack of love
and compassion as a child. Challenges can help me grow as a person and makes my
achievement or accomplishments more sweeter or remarkable because I believe that upon
achieving your goal in life it is more valuable because of the obstacles and challenges
that you encounter through your journey, which you can proudly say that you have
overcome and accomplished as you achieve your goal. Growing up it’s hard to reach my
family and people’s expectation of me in the future and because of that I’m more confuse
and unsure of what I’m trying to accomplish in my life but as time progress I have
options of what I want to be but at the same time I have unlimited time to decide the path
I’ll take and because of this I can clarify what I truly want in my life or better yet it can
help me overcome the fears of having to reach the expectation of other people and aim
what makes me happy and what I’m passionate about in my life. In the face of struggles
and challenges we must learn to be mature or exhibit responsibility because the decisions
and actions we do have consequences that highly affect the outcome we want or things
we want to achieve. In order to achieve maturity as an individual I think that we must
stop ourselves from blaming others for every mistake we make but be responsible enough
to take it upon ourselves to admit and fix it.
