Learning Outcome of HIS103

Learning the history of our nation – learning how Bangladesh has developed, how we have
achieved independence, and the people who have fought so hard to give us the freedom to speak
in our tongue is one of the most fundamental aspects of our education. We must understand
where our origins lay and think about the people who have made it possible for us to be our true
selves.

The students who mostly came from English Medium background doesn’t know much about our
ancient and liberation history. From the course HIS103 “Emergence of Bangladesh” we students
can learn a vast amount of phenomenon of our country.

From the beginning, we can learn how the word Bengal came from. How our ancestors
influenced by different religions. And how we become a Muslim majority country.

Through this course, we can learn how Britain ruled this Indian Territory. And what was the
impact of their governance. Also we can learn the Pros and Cons of British Regime in India.

We learned how India and Pakistan divided and formed based on religion. And the consequences
of East Pakistan dominated by West Pakistan. Also we can learn about our true leaders, who
fought back against the West Pakistani Govt. and bring back our rights on Mother Tongue
Bangla.

At the end we can learn vastly about our Father of Nation Bangobandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman. Whose proper guidance and courage gave us the bravery to defeat the West Pakistani
Army. And make Bangladesh an independent country.

As we enter yet another year where we may have to rely entirely on the internet for our
education, and internet. HIS103 course is very vital for us to remind ourselves of the things. It
can give us that stray from our traditional approach to education and make the best use of those
resources to keep learning about the events and the people that have allowed for us to be whom
we are today.
