SYNOPSIS ECONOMICS I

PRODUCERS SURPLUS

INTRODUCTION-
The producer surplus is the theory that represents the difference between what cost a
producer is willing to accept for selling a product, on the one side, and what the producer can
actually selling it for, on the other side. That difference is the cost which the producer gets as
a result of selling the commodity within the market. In other words, the producer surplus
actually measures producer welfare. In this project the student researcher will try to study in
dept the concept and application of producers Surplus and will also try to give examples of
producers that we come across every day. The basic formula for calculating consumer surplus
is by taking the difference of total revenue in take that a producer receives and the total cost
of the producer for producing that particular good i.e. Producer surplus = total revenue – total
cost.

OBJECTIVE OF STUDY-
The objective of research are -
1. To explain Producers surplus in detailed and understand them.
2. To explain how producer surplus is important part of economics.
3. To explain the application of producer’s surplus.

RESEARCH QUESTION-
The research question helped in providing adequate emphasis to the core issue of the
research and based on the issue the research study use to be conducted. Therefore, as the
research question focus on the core issue of the research study, it plays important role in
this study.

2. what are the various applications of producer’s surplus?
LITERATURE REVIEW-
The researcher has taken information from various books, web sources, articles, journals,
and case laws to explain the purpose and objectives of law and its interrelation with
different dimensions and with constitution of India.

RESEARCH METHODLOGY-
The study is based on the doctrinal method of research and both primary and secondary
sources are taken into consideration while making it like websites, books, and other internet
sources. The type of study done here is descriptive and explanatory study. This research
process deals with collecting & analysing information within the boundaries of the topic.

SCOPE OF STUDY-
The scope of study is limited to producers surplus and its application.

SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY-
This project helps to understand the purposes and objectives of producers surplus and help
us to trace examples of producers surplus in various market. In this study the student
researcher will try to define and will cover all concept of producers surplus.
