Answer Thermol D is a next generation Diesel Fuel combustion

catalyst which helps in complete burning of diesel inside the
engine. It not only helps in complete combustion but keeps
the engine free of all kinds of deposit build up, it actually
removes even the existing deposit. By virtue of its unique
complete burning property, it does not allow any deposit to
be formed in the entire fuel system. Thermol D is based on
the technology developed in association with IIT Mumbai.
The Thermol D technology products are tested on many
different engines and different qualities of fuel to evaluate
their performance.

Answer The PH at 10% solution of Thermol D is 6.95.

Answer THERMOL-D is a clear liquid (red color) and pleasant in

Answer The dosage of Thermol D is 1: 2000 liters of Diesel fuel.

Q.No.5 What does THERMOL-D do?

Answer THERMOL-D has a unique ability to assist the process of
Complete Burning of Diesel inside the combustion chamber.
It also has outstanding properties for cleaning up of the
deposits formed in to the entire fuel system like, Injectors.
It even removes deposits from the combustion chamber
which most of the other additives in the market cannot
remove. By virtue of its unique Complete Burning property,
it does not allow any deposits to be formed in the entire fuel
system.

Answer THERMOL-D contains a unique Clean Burning Technology
additive system with several carefully balanced components.
These components help in complete burning of Diesel inside
the engine besides removing existing deposits through
detergent and dispersant action and also form a protective
layer on all the engine fuel system components to prevent
the formation of fresh deposits, lubricity improver present in
THERMOL-D reduce wear and tear of engine components,
specially fuel pump.

Answer The main ingredients of THERMOL-D are:-

 Surfactant
 Lubricity Enhancer

All the above ingredients are blended in an organic base.

Q.No.6 What is surfactant of Thermol D?

Answer The unique surfactant present in THERMOL-D helps in reducing the

surface tension of the of the hydrocarbon droplets in Diesel. This
helps in better atomization, thereby helping in better combustion.

Answer During the model refining process of severe hydro

treating and removal of Sulphur, the components
responsible for fuel lubricity are removed. Due to this,
the lubricity of Diesel fuel is lowered. THERMOL-D has
lubricity enhancing components, which help in restoring
the lubricity of Diesel fuel, improving the life of the fuel
pump and fuel injector components. This is specially
helpful in case of Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD).
 THERMOL-D has been tested by Kirloskar Oil Engines
Limited (KOEL) at ARAI for the lubricity test, where the
test results clearly indicate improvement in lubricity
characteristics of both Diesel & Kerosene with usage of
THERMOL-D. M/s. KOEL are selling THERMOL-D under
their brand name K-Add(D), which is distributed
throughout the country through their dealers..

Answer Dispersant present in THERMOL-D helps in atomization of Diesel
fuel as well as prevents agglomeration of sticky deposit.

Q. No. 9 What is Cetane?

Answer THERMOL-D contains Cetane improver component, which helps in

reducing the ignition delay. Due to this property, the engine
operation becomes smoother and the user will notice less engine
vibration.

Q. No. 9 How Thermol D helps in Pre combustion Phase?

Answer During Storage, the unique lipophilic component in the THERMOL-D

increases the intra molecular distance between the combustible
hydrocarbon chains reducing the internal cohesive bonding. The
evidence of this action reflects into lowering of the viscosity of fuel.
This, in turn, helps in better atomization, which is a pre-requisite for
better combustion.
Q. No. 9 What is Combustion Catalyst?

Answer A unique combustion improver component present in THERMOL-D in

weakens the bond between longer chains and helps in breaking
them into smaller chains.

THERMOL-D contains Antifoamant component, which helps in

suppressing the foam. This property is useful while filling the Diesel
tank of a vehicle to reduce the foaming and spillage of Diesel fuel.

Q. No. 9 How Thermol D helps in combustion Phase?

Answer Large diesel droplets and high asphaltene concentrations require

more time, more energy and higher temperatures to combust than
is available in equipments during the combustion process.

Any device in the fuel system exposing the fuel to stress (heat and
pressure) such as pumps, heaters, or centrifuges will increase the
formation of asphaltenes and negatively impact combustion.
Normally, the higher hydrocarbon chains present in diesel reacts
with oxygen to produce heat. Due to the longer chains, the
combustion reaction takes place over a period of time and the
energy release is gradual. Due to their complex long chain structure
reaction between Hydrocarbon Molecule and Oxygen from air
requires a higher effort, which dissipates some of the energy, which
in turn reduces the heat output.

A unique component in THERMOL-D with help of Homolytic fission or

cleavaging, initially breaks up the longer chains before they are
 burnt, into more number of Methane molecules. Due to the simple
arrangement of carbon and hydrogen atoms in Methane, Oxygen
molecules can readily react with them, which in turn produce more
heat and energy as compared to burning of higher chain molecules.

Q. No. 9 How the nascent Oxygen helps with usage of Thermol

D?

Answer During the splitting of higher hydrocarbons and

combustion of methane, a small number of Hydrogen and Oxygen
molecules go through the process of Peroxide Radical Formation.
These Peroxide radicals lead to formation of Oxygen in atomic form
- Nascent Oxygen, which due to its unpaired electron is highly
reactive. This Nascent Oxygen Atom further helps in better
combustion.

The combined action of these reactions helps is the entire

combustion reaction-taking place at the appropriate time and
releases more energy at the required time.

Answer The components of THERMOL-D have been extensively tested
and shown to present no hazards.
Q. No. 18 How much THERMOL-D do I need to add ?
Answer The recommend a dosage for THERMOL-D product is 1 ml for
every 2 litres of Diesel. However if you are using THERMOL-D
for the first time, we recommend a dosage of 1 ml for each
litres of Diesel for the first 500 km of usage. This will ensure
complete removal of accumulated deposits from entire fuel
system and restore optimum performance of your engine.
