In the course of a succession and in order to manage the challenging tasks in the region, the
company is currently searching for a “Branch Manager Tanzania”.

Main Tasks

 Management - Management and technical direction of the consultant''s personnel in the


branch office in Dar es Salam and related site offices
 Financial - Preparation of budgets and financial planning, review of financial statements and
data, overall responsibility for compliance of the Branch’s activities with tax regulations, overall
responsibility for the financial results
 Technical Responsibility - Technical responsibility and quality control for pre-feasibility
studies, feasibility studies, detailed designs, tender documents and all other relevant technical
documentation (e.g. progress reports)
 Business Development - Identification of business opportunities, acquisition of new projects,
preparation of proposals for projects, preparation of Consultancy Contract Agreements
 Best Practices - Improve processes and policies, define and implement departmental and
organizational policies and procedures, monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
 Human Resources - Recruitment and placement of required staff; monitor and evaluate
performance of staff
 Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT,
HR, Accounts and Finance, facilitate coordination and communication between support
functions, improve external communication (PR) by use of modern media

Professional Career / Experience

 Multi-project management acumen gathered over several years in civil engineering


 Experience with budget and turnover responsibility (ideally P&L)
 International leadership experience in Tanzania or Eastern Africa
 Proven acumen in modern project management methods, project presentation and business
development
 Long-term experience in leadership of >8 direct reports as department or team leader
 Negotiation experience (contracts, addenda, etc.) ideally in intercultural contexts

Degree

 Bachelors or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business


Administration or similar
Languages

 English: fluent business conversation


 German: fluent business conversation (of added value)
 Swahili (nice to have)
