Think about some places where we should speak softly and places where we can speak loudly. The
loudness or softness of sound is called dynamics. It helps us in expressing a certain mood of a
music piece or a song.

We speak softly when we whisper, and we speak loudly

when we shout.

We also use loud and soft sound in singing. Listen

to the song Into the Unknown from Frozen II and
hear the difference in volume between the voices
of Aurora (Voice of the North Wind and Idina
Menzel (Queen Elsa). Notice that Queen Elsa
started singing softly.

INTO THE UNKNOWN

By Idina Menzel and Aurora (from Frozen II)

Ah ah, oh oh You're not a voice

Ah ah, oh oh You're just ringing in my ear
Ah ah, oh oh oh oh And if I heard you, which I don't
I'm spoken for I fear
I can hear you but I won't
Some look for trouble Everyone I've ever loved is here within
While others don't these walls
There's a thousand reasons I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking
out your calls
I should go about my day I've had my adventure, I don't need
And ignore your whispers something new
Which I wish would go away I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow
you
Oh, oh, oh
Ah ah, oh oh
Ah ah, oh oh oh
4
Into the unknown That longs to go into the unknown?
Into the unknown
Into the unknown Into the unknown
Into the unknown
Ah ah, oh oh
Ah ah, oh oh, oh Ah ah, ah ah
Ah ah, ah ah
What do you want? Oh, oh, oh
'Cause you've been keeping me awake
Are you here to distract me Are you out there?
So I make a big mistake? Do you know me?
Can you feel me?
Or are you someone out there Can you show me?
Who's a little bit like me? Ah ah ah ah
Who knows deep down
I'm not where I'm meant to be? Where are you going?
Every day's a little harder Don't leave me alone
As I feel my power grow How do I follow you
Don't you know there's part of me Into the unknown?

E. Cut out the pictures and group them according to their sizes (big or
