PROJECT

QUALITY

0. FOREWORD

When we decide to set up a business or develop a new project, we need to take into
consideration many aspects to ensure its quality, and therefore its success. These
aspects include, among others, environmental management, risk management and the
establishment of a system or methodology for excellent project management.

In this manual we will deal with the three aforementioned concepts, so that their
correct management will help us achieve excellent quality management in our projects
and, as a result, excellent management of the whole project.

The first issue that we will address is quality. We will introduce the basic principles of
quality management, the ways we can manage total quality in our company and the
aspect of environmental quality. We will further discuss the different tools that should
be used to manage quality in the best way possible, and we will discuss current
regulations on quality and environmental issues.

The second issue to be dealt with is risk management. We will learn about the
different potential risks, discuss the stages of the risk management process and briefly
introduce the ISO 31000 risk management standard.

The last point we will address is project management. We will outline the different
premises, considerations and methodologies that will help us manage our projects
effectively.

At the end of this manual, in the appendix, you will find a series of case studies in
order to learn how to implement the methodologies discussed and attain a more
complete vision.
