Leicestershire have signed South Africa all-rounder Wiaan Mulder for the 2021 domestic
season as one of the team's overseas players. The 22-year-old will be available for the
County Championships as well as the 50-over One-Day Cup.

Mulder turned in impressive performances for the Proteas in the recently-concluded Test
series against Sri Lanka, claiming nine wickets at 20.55. He has played only three Tests so
far but has an impressive first-class record from 35 games. He has scored five hundreds and
averages 38.73 with the bat and has taken 99 wickets at an average of 24.43. Mulder also
played County cricket for Kent in 2019.

"Wiaan is a top-class allrounder who we have kept an eye on for several months," said Paul
Nixon, Leicestershire's head coach, said. "He has recently returned to the international
scene and we are delighted to have Wiaan sign for us. He is a player who is comfortable
batting in the top six and is a first-change bowler at the very highest level. He is highly
experienced for a young player and will add a huge amount to our group.

"I have spoken to many people about Wiaan and everybody has good things to say about
how he goes about his work. Wiaan is a match-winner who is very rarely out of the game
with his all-round abilities."

Leicestershire finished fifth in the North Group of the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. In the
revamped 2021 championship, they've been placed in Group 2 alongside Middlesex,
Somerset, Surrey, Hampshire and Gloucestershire.
