Question No: 01
The key question in his mind was that given the overall
situation, did Pakistani companies have the same potential?
Answer:

Pakistan is now facing a lot of economic issues these days. The GDP
growth of Pakistan had been inhabited by a narrow production base,
political instability and poor and inconsistent policies synonymous with
corruption. The political sector of Pakistan were unclear and
unpredictable. The electric power shortage and supply of water was also
an issue for Pakistan. So that made investment an issue in Pakistan, but
as Pakistan ranked No 1 in South Asia in categories such as “Starting a
Business “and “Protecting Investors”, that sorted out the investment
issue in Pakistan and there were a lot of companies that started their
business and became successful under these circumstances and
contribute in the GDP growth of Pakistan. So Asad Jamal believed that
Pakistani companies have potential and Pakistan is a good option for the
investment purpose.

Question: 02
Asad sat and considered the issues over a hot bowl of his
favorite Bostonspeciality, clam chowder. His instincts told
him that Pakistan was a seethingcauldron of opportunity
and
potentially a next frontier for technology-based
entrepreneurship. China had been done. India had been
done. What was the next high-growth region, and was he
willing to bet on his homeland? Keeping in mind that
Pakistan was a mere 60-years old, would his limited partners
give him the time to allow Pakistan to mature from the
eastern equivalent of the Wild West, to a mature
entrepreneurial community?
Answer:

Asad Jamal was in a middle of thinking wether he should invest in

Pakistan.Pakistan is basically important because of its location.
India,China, UAE ,largest markets of world are being close to it.The
billion dollars givent to Pakistan for "war on terror" were actually
beneficial of the economy of Pakistan. The middle class sector of
Pakistan was growning and their requirements were also growning
accordingly which resembles with the West side.
Pakistan had the potential of growth in it and is going to be the next
growning market as India And China already had sustained or stable
growth. Pakistan achieved so much despite of being only 60 years
old.One of the major achievement of Pakistan was to be ranked 76th in
the global and ranked as the top country in South Asia for "Starting a
Business"and "Protecting Investors".the GDP growth of Pakistan
became better. So wild west could not even get closer to Pakistan and
both Pakistan and wild west did not have any comparison with each
other as Pakistan had so much to offer. Pakistan proved itself that it was
potentially ready to be the next frontier for the tecchnology based
entrepreneurship.

Question No: 03
Adobe and Qualcomm had already invested in Pakistani
companies, and ePlanet had the opportunity to make its first
investment. Asad realized that most emerging economies had
reached their current level of development from similar
beginnings and Pakistan was no different. In risk there was
reward. Did he want to learn from others’ mistakes or make
those mistakes himself and learn from them?Should ePlanet
be one of the first VC entrants into the Pakistani market?
Answer:

Entrepreneurs basically acccepts the risk in order to make their business

run and successful. As Asad jamal is an entrepreneur. Asad had to know
the prons and cons and the risk that might get in his way in order to start
the business. Adobe and Qualcomm are the companies who invested in
Pakistan in order to make company run successful and got thre desire
outcome off what they actually want and got successful. These two
companies are example for Asad Jamal as both companies got success
by investing in Pakistan. It means that Pakistan also had the potential for
business as both Adobe and Qualcomm are working in Pakistan and it
did nont appear to be a mistake or loss for them as both companies ran
successfully. So after watching this, eplanet should definately be the first
VC entrants into the Pakistan markets.
