Solution:

Inert atmospheres contain no oxygen. Air purifying respirators are inadequate in this
instance because they do not supply oxygen. Negative pressure air supplied
respirators will expose employees to the oxygen deficient atmospheres if there is a leak
in the respirator seal.

The correct solution is D.
