My Roles

The Luke McCallion Show

I took on the role of presenting in this project as this is one of my stronger areas within the
production team. However, confidence doesn’t mean I got it all first time and I learnt the
hard way about how difficult talking in front of a camera can be. Although it took several
attempts for me to feel settled in the role, we finally got the perfect run through and I was
happy with my delivery. I also did research for this project but it did not need to be too
extensive as I already had a good idea about the people/projects on the show.

The Adam McIntyre Show

My roles in this production were scriptwriting, camera and floor manager. This was due to
so many roles needing filled with such a small crew so I took on extra roles to broaden my
experience. The scriptwriting was a good experience as I was learning the format as I went
along, with the content simple enough for me to create as I have a way with words. Camera
was also a good experience, as I was very interested in using the JVC cameras which I had
not done before. Finally floor manager was the final role and my main responsibilities were
ensuring everyone was present, following COVID restrictions and that no unnecessary
personnel were in the room.

The Benn Anderson Show

In this production I took on the roles of director and sound. Doing sound was enjoyable as I
learnt how to use laav microphones which will be very useful for future projects. I absolutely
loved the responsibility of directing. The experience was great in all aspects whether it be:
directing the VT mixer, the cameras or even the presenter to get the best possible outcome.
I would definitely say this was the production I enjoyed the most out of the three done on
the day.
