Who writes Imagine?

Imagine, John Lennon´s famous song, is an idealistic song about peace and the
hope for a better world. “imagine all the people living life in peace”
The song becomes a hit for three times, in 1971, in 1980 and in 2001.-
But who really writes the song? The answer to this question is always John
Lennon but in a tv programme this week Lennon´s wife, Yoko Ono, speaks for
the first time about how she helps to write the song. She said, the idea and
inspiration for Imagine come from some of her poems that John Lennon reads.
And Lennon said that a lot of this song comes from her, from her book of
poems. ONO said that part of the song was written when they fly across the
Atlantic and the rest on the piano in their bedroom at their home in England.
The song speakss about John’s dream for the world; It is something he really
wants to say.
“Imagine” becomes a popular song for peace activists everywhere. Story adapted

DEBATE:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_36pM-lzgY (summary adapted)

This is a beautiful quiet place with mountains all around it. Its name is Machu Pichu. It
is called the city of the Incas and it is .8000 feets up in the Andes. It is a magic
attraction and a magnificent center of the ancient world. Machu Pichu is more than
500 years old. Today is a favorite place for visitors around the word even in the rain
and fog; it is wonderful to walk through the ruins. When the Inca civilization ended
first few people know Machu Pichu exists, but in 1911 an explorer, Hiram Bingham,
finds it again. Now hundreds of tourists come here every day. They walk over the
stones and climb over the ruins.

Some people in Peru hope that more tourists come every year because its means
more business, more money for the country but some conservationists worry that
visitors not be good for Machu Pichu and the environment. Many people say most
people is poor in Machu Pichu and tourists bring money to this communities selling
souvenirs or local dishes, but others say that tourists can bring changes in the ancient
city.

New vocabulary: environment (medio ambiente- nounn), feets (medida), ancient(adj-

old), through(adverb.moving one side to another- a traves), explorer(noun-travel
unfamiliar area) , stones (piedras) , climb(verb. Trepar), conservationists (protectors)

What is MP? What do people called MP? How many feets MP is up? What is it? How
old is MP? Is it a magic attraction? Is MP more than 400 years old? What is Mp today?
Why is it a wonderful place? What happened when the old civilization ended? What
happened in 1911? What happened now? What do tourists do there?

Why do any people in Peru hope for more tourists? What does it mean? What do
conservationists think about tourism? How does tourism bring money there? Some
people agree and others do not agree, why? Do you read or investigate about MP?

1) Disadvantages: Deterioration of the stone. 2) Fragile structures. 3)

Authorities protect the archeological sites of Machu Picchu. There are
many land movements in the area.(Japanese geologists studying land

Running

CAN MUSIC REALLY MAKE YOU RUN FASTER? (adapted)

Costas Karageorghis a sports psychologist at Brunel University, in the uK, calls

music “sport´s legal drug”. He says that exercising with music can improve
athletic performance by 15%. The music must be carefully chosen so that the
time is synchronized with the exercise you are doing. According to professor
Karageorghis, music also make you feel less pain and makes and exercise
session less boring and more enjoyable.

The UK´s biggest gym chain, Fitness first, recognizes the importance of music
to work, and plays music in all its clubs, Music works well with weightlifting, and
other repetitive actions but it can also help with running, the best example of
this is Haile Gebreselassie, perhaps the world’s greatest runner who used the
techno-pop song Scatman when he broke the world 2000 m record. But if
music is so important to Gebreselassie, why do other top runners never race
with headphones?
Karageorghis says” Reaserch shows that for most top athletes music is less
effective. Elite athletes focus more on their bodies and less on outside stimuli
(stimulus plural) like music, so music can help amateur runners run faster and
further most top athletes prefer silence, I decided to try running with music
myself, I´m going to run a half marathon and a sports doctor gives me the
perfect playlist of songs for running when I do the race. I find that some of the
tracks, like Von Kleet´s Walking On Me , makes running easier, others make me
want to throw away the mp3 player, when I crossed the line, I had beaten my
previous personal best by one minute, but was it because of the music? To be
honest, I fell it was probable because of the extra training.---------------------------

Why do you think that?

Where is Stirling castle? west coast in scotland

Interview : Mel Gibson, Vince Vaughn, Luke Bracey –

Where the film was made?

Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is one of the largest and most important
castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally. Its strategic location
has made it an important fortification in the region from the earliest times. A lot
of tourists visit the place the film was made. The film generated huge interest
in Scotland and in Scottish history, not only around the world, but also in
Scotland itself.

Why do they use music in some battles and no in others?

It´s depends of how much emotion...or romanticism… the film needs to transmit.

How many special effects the film has?

A lot. A lot… They come from Australia, there are big guns, box bombs, there are little
things of plastic to shoot trees, I mean as a paintball..and real explosions…The film is
physically demanding running around this thing for many hours….We need
authenticity, it is absolutely jeopardy(dangerous) and transmits emotion, It is a
beautiful performance.

How many awards the film gets?

Awards: best film, 1995. Best action sequence: battle of Stirling, best actor, picture,
make up, music.-

Make an interview to Mel Gibson.

MINI CASTLE IN TE WORLD

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0cBtWT8Cfs

Dean´s in castle in Buckinghanshire just a Little jewel full of history not a

defensive castle, but a mini castle. Hola! Welcome to my castle. I´m kainat
Fernandez. So now I´m Jimmy, my wife and I, we see it and we fell in love and
we think (thought) what a shame that this place is in such a ruinous conditions,
we paid a 100.000 purchasing, the property and then more than 300.000 on the
renovation, the castle was originally built structured, my role in the project was
as an owner architect designer. I used to call it extreme DIY. (DI AI WAY)
Please go in, so the castle is divided into three floors , we ´ve got the kitchen
and dining room this is a place where we are now and we´ve got the sitting
room and two bedrooms . it´s upstairs. I try to keep the original building, original
factory oven, the original fire place, we manage to fit the hob (machine tool for
food) perfectly there. Here we´ve got the breakfast bar , you can see plenty of
shells. All around they were from the Jurassic area and you can still see the
remains of the shells coming out from the kitchen, the sitting room is a favorite
spot in the house. it+s where we spend most of the time. It´s lovely because we
´ve got 360 views to the fields trees, country side I chose to keep the red brick
exposed because it contains also a lot of history about the building, you can see
initials and dates , although the plumbing(plomeria) and electricity which is
inside behind this beautiful oat place came from the same tree made all the
windows in the house, the stair was by the most challenging thing, in the
restoration process. I had to do a 3d laser scan and the accuracy is amazing I
mean the detail here is less than 20 miillinoners around every wall, we are now
at the top floor where we´ve got the bedrooms, originally the space was open
plan and this used to be the meeting room, This is the master bedroom this
used to be the main door they used to come with horses and stop there and get
up here. This ’s the roof Terrance, it´s very unique because you are literally
under and surrounded by trees, they´ll make you feel like you´re in a tree
house, we are finding the castle comfortable for leaving but it wouldn’t allow us
to have any more kids so I´m afraid that at this point we do need to sell it,
whenever we move on we feel proud of having a castle and we save the
building.
