The Magic Schools

These are the schools we are bringing in Warsword Conquest. Most schools have a lore attribute
which both the AI and the player will take advantage of. Some schools do certain types of spells
better than others in terms of either strength of effect, radius of effect or cost.

Light (Lore of Light)


Lore Attribute: Double damage against undead and daemons.

Spells:

Shem’s Burning Gaze – Magic missile

Pha’s Protection - Decrease enemy ranged accuracy

Speed of Light – Allied troops have increased weapon speed and damage

Light of Battle – Give courage to your troops and rally the runners (at higher levels)

Net of Amyntok – Slow down enemy troops and slightly inhibit their ranged accuracy

Banishment – AoE damage spell

Birona’s Timewarp - Makes your allies super speedy

Gold (Lore of Metal)


Lore Attribute: Damage counts as fire attacks (bonus damage vs regenerating troops and treemen).

Spells:

Searing Doom – Magic missile

Plague of Rust - Disintegrates armour of those it hits.

Enchanted Blades of Aiban – Allied troops have increased weapon speed and damage

Glittering Robe - Allies get magic protection from damage

Transmutation of Lead - Enemies slowed in speed and mildly reduced weapons’ speed and damage

Final Transmutation – AoE spell, 33% chance of instant death, 66% no damage

Jade (Lore of Life)

Lore Attribute: Each successful cast will heal the caster.

Spells:

Earth Blood: Heal your allies


Flesh to Stone: Give your allies magical protection from damage

Awakening of the Wood – AoE damage spell

Shield of Thorns: Allies will auto return damage when hit

Regrowth – Heal your allies and awaken unconscious ones

Dwellers Below – AoE radius - failed power strike test = death

Celestial (Lore of Heavens)


Lore attribute: None.

Spells:

Wind Blast – Magic missile

Iceshard Blizzard – Enemy movement speed severely weakened

Harmonic Convergence – Allies hits will do at least 10 damage

Curse of the Midnight Wind – Enemy special abilities do not work

Lightning Storm – AoE radius damage spell

Urannon’s Thunderbolt – Powerful magic missile (cannot be recast)

Comet of Casandora: Very powerful AoE radius damage spell

Grey (Lore of Shadows)


Lore Attribute: 10% per magic skill level player escape chance after battle up to 80%.

Spells:

Melkoth’s Mystifying Miasma – Radius caster - Multiple hexes to enemy

Steed of Shadows - Spawn a Shadow Steed, the higher the magic skill the better its stats

Enfeebling Foe – Radius caster - Enemy damage hexed

The Withering – Radius caster - Enemies are weakened and take extra damage

Shadow Strike – Magic missile (cannot recast)

Pit of Shades – AoE radius - failed agility test = death

Occam’s Mindrazor – Allies get damage boost based on the caster’s leadership skill

Amethsyt (Lore of Death)


Lore Attribute: Chance of gaining a mana point when you kill a troop with a spell.

Spells:
Spirit Leech – powerful magic missile (cannot recast)

Aspect of the dreadknight – Radius caster -Allies gain courage, cause fear and gain unbreakable

Caress of the laniph – Powerful magic missile (cannot recast)

Soulblight – Enemies are weakened and do less damage

Doom and Darkness – Radius caster – Enemies lose courage

Fate of Bjuna – Powerful magic missile, ironflesh test (cannot recast)

Purple Sun of Xereus – Immense AoE damage spell

Bright (Lore of Fire)


Lore Attribute: All attacks are flame attacks.

Spells:

Fireball – Magic missile

Cascading firecloak – AoE radius - Allies gain magic protection from damage

Flaming Sword of Rhuin – aoe radius - Allies gain increased damage

The Burning Head – Powerful magic missile (cannot recast)

Piercing Bolts of Burning – Ally archers and crossbows gain flaming ammo permanently

Flamestorm – AoE damage spell

Amber (Lore of Beasts)


Lore Attribute: None.

Spells:

Amber Spear – magic missile

Wyssan’s Wildform – radius AoE - Allies get augmented damage and damage protection

Flock of Doom – radius caster – Enemies lose courage

Pann’s Impenetrable Belt – AoE radius - Allies gain increased speed and a ward save

Curse of Anhraheir – AoE radius - Enemy has movement slowed and ranged accuracy hexed

Savage Beast of Horrors – AoE radius – Allies gain increased speed and damage

Transformation of Kadon – magic missile (aim for ally) – turns ally into a wild bear

Qhasyh (Lore of High Magic)


Lore Attribute: Every successfully cast spell gives you +1 ward save up to 4+. Resets to 0 after
successful save.

Spells:

Soul Quench - Magic missile

Apotheosis – AoE radius – Heal allies and they gain fear.

Hand of Glory – AoE radius – Allies get multiple combat augmentations

Walk Between Worlds – AoE radius- Allies gain increased speed and dodge

Drain Magic – Cancel all magic effects and enemy casters get reduced mana

Mana Tempest – Invest now for a greater mana increase over time

Arcane Unforging – Powerful magic missile (cannot be recast)

Fiery Convocation – AoE damage spell

Dhar (Lore of Dark Magic)


Lore Attribute: Damage boost for spells if double rolled on 2d6.

Spells:

Doombolt – Magic missile

Power of Darkness – AoE radius – Major boost to allied damage

Chillwind – All enemy ranged units have accuracy hexed

Word of Pain – AoE radius – Enemies have multiple combat abilities hexed

Bladewind – AoE radius – Enormous damage if agility test failed

Shroud of Despair – radius caster – Enemies lose courage

Soulstealer – AoE radius damage – Any kills with heal the caster

Arnzipal’s Black Horror – AoE radius – Death if power strike test failed

Lore of Undeath
Lore Attribute: Each successful summoning spell cast gives you summoning points which increase
the quality chance of your summons. Resets when used successfully.

Spells:

Ryze, the Grave Call – Summons low to mid level troops

Morkharn, Breath of Darkness – radius caster -Heals undead troops

Sulekhim, Hand of Dust – Gives caster increased damage (can last multiple magic phases)
Khizzar, the Soulstealer – Magic missile – Heavy damage and extra summoning point on leadership
test (cannot be recast)

Corruption – radius caster – All enemies take damage

Kandhorak, the Harbinger – Summons mid to high level infantry

Akar- Aran, the Dark Rider – Summons cavalry

Lore of Tzeentch
Lore Attribute: When an 8 is rolled for the winds of magic gain an extra 2 mana.

Spells:

Blue fire of Tzeentch – Magic missile

Treason of Tzeentch – radius caster – Enemies cannot gain courage

Pink Fire of Tzeenhch – AoE radius damage

Bolt of Change – Powerful magic missile (cannot be recast)

Glean Magic – Magic missile – only affects enemy caster – battle of wills based on magic level, if you
win they take damage and cannot cast in the next magic phase.

Tzeentch’s Firestorm – Radius AoE damage

Infernal Gateway – Radius AoE – immense damage

Lore of Slaanesh
Lore Attribute: Every time the caster kills a troop with magic there is a chance they will summon a
daemonette.

Spells:

Lash of Slaanesh – Magic missile

Acquiesence – Radius AoE – Enemy movement speed slowed and slight hex to weapon damage and
speed

Pavane of Slaanesh – Powerul magic missile – Extreme damage on leadership test fail

Hysterical Frenzy – AoE radius – Allies gain increased speed, fighting ability and unbreakable

Slicing Shards – AoE radius damage – Multiple hits until leadership test passed

Phantasmagoria – Radius caster – Enemy special abilities don’t work

Cacophonic Choir – AoE radius – 50% chance of enormous damage


Lore of Nurgle
Lore Attribute: Every time the caster successfully casts a spell there is a chance they will gain Ignore
Pain. Once they have Ignore Pain there is a chance they will gain the more advanced level of Ignore
Pain.

Spells:

Stream of Corruption – Magic missile

Miasma of Pestilence – AoE radius – Enemy speed and combat ability reduced

Blades of Puterfaction – AoE radius – Allied attacks become poisonous

Curse of the Leper – AoE radius – Allied troop gain ignore pain (advanced at higher levels)

Rancid Visitations – AoE radius damage – Multiple hits until an Ironflesh test is successfully passed

Fleshy Abundance – Radius caster – Allies have chance to regenerate to full wounds (higher magic
skill = higher chance)

Plaguewind – AoE damage - poisonous – Ironflesh test dependent

Lore of Da Big Waaagh (Orcs)


Lore Attribute: If your allied orcs get in more hits to their enemies than they did to them during a
magic phase then the next magic phase your spells get bonus damage. The more you dominate, the
more the bonus.

Spells:

Gaze of Mork- Magic missile

Brain Bursta – Powerful magic missile (cannot recast)

Fists of Gork – Caster gains increased damage and weapon speed and a ward save (can last multiple
magic phases)

Hand of Gork – Radius AoE – Allies have increased speed

‘Eadbutt - Powerful magic missile – affects enemy casters only

Foot of Gork – AoE radius damage

‘Ere We Go! – AoE radius – Allies gain Ignore Pain and increased combat abilities

Lore of Da Little Waaagh (Goblins)


Lore Attribute: After every successful spell cast there is a 1 in 3 chance you will steal a mana off of an
enemy magic user in the next magic phase.

Spells:

Vindictive Glare – Magic missile


Sneaky Stabbing – AoE radius – Allied piercing damage gets boost

Gift of the Spider God – AoE radius – Allies gain poisonous attacks

Itchy Nuisance – AoE radius – Enemy movement speed reduced

Gork Will Fix It – Radius caster – Enemy special abilities don’t work

Night Shroud – Radius caster – Enemy ranged accuracy hexed – only works at night

Curse of Da Bad Moon – AoE radius damage

Lore of Ruin (Skaven)


Lore Attribute: None.

Spells:

Warp Lightning – Magic missile

Skitterleap – AoE radius – Allies have increased speed

Howling Wargate – Radius caster – Enemy movement speed and ranged accuracy hexed

Death Frenzy – AoE radius – Allies have increased movement speed and combat abilities

Scorch – AoE radius damage

Cracks Call – AoE radius damage – 33% chance of insta death

Lore of Plague (Skaven)


Lore Attribute: None.

Spells:

Pestilent Breath – Radius caster – Very close enemies take multiple hits

Bless With Filth – AoE radius – Allies gain poisonous attacks

Wither – Radius caster – Enemies are weakened and take extra damage

Vermintide – AoE radius damage

Cloud of Corruption – AoE radius damage

Plague – AoE radius damage – When those affected die, there is a chance they will release the
plague where they are laying.

Lore of Nehekhara
Lore Attribute: All skeletons that are augmented by friendly spells will also heal wounds.

Spells:
Khsar’s Incantation of the Desert Wind – Radius caster- Allies have increased speed

Djaf’s Incantation of Cursed Blades – Radius caster – Allies gain Mighty Blow

Nerus’ Incantation of Protection – Radius caster – Allies gain Ward Save

Ptra’s Incantation of Righteous Smiting – Allied archers have reload speed augmented

Usirion’s Incantation of Vengeance – AoE radius – Enemy movement hexed

Usekhp’s Incantation of Dessication – Radius caster – Enemies take increased damage and have
damage dealt reduced.

Sahkmet’s Incantation of the Skullstorm - AoE radius damage

Lore of Ice (Kislev)


Lore Attribute: None.

Spells:

Frozen Shard – Magic missile

Freezing blast – AoE radius – Enemies have movement reduced and take minor damage

Summon Frost Bear – Summons a frost bear for casters team

Invocation of the Ice Storm – Radius caster – enemy ranged reload speed and accuracy hexed

Midwinter’s Kiss – Powerful magic missile (cannot be recast)

Frozen Skin – Caster gains Ignore Pain

Shield of Cold – Radius caster – Allies gain Ward Save

Lore of the Desert (Araby)


Lore Attribute: None.

Spells:

Sand Blast – Magic missile

Curse of the Genie – Radius AoE – Enemies have 50% chance of taking extra damage per hit

Dancing Scimitar – Radius caster – Allies gain augmented fighting abilities and dodge

Sun strike – Powerful magic missile (cannot be recast)

Holy Wrath – AoE radius – Allies gain damage increase

Shield of Faith – AoE radius – Allies gain damage protection (only works on Araby troops)

Divine Healing – AoE radius – Heal allies (only works on Araby troops)
Lore of the Wild (Beastmen)
Lore Attribute: None.

Spells:

Viletide – Magic missile

Bestial Surge – AoE radius – Allies gain increased speed

Devolve – Radius caster – Enemies take damage if a Leadership test is failed

Bray Scream – Powerful magic missile (cannot be recast)

Traitor Kin – Radius caster – Allied cavalry dismounted if riding test failed

Mantle of Ghorok – Caster gains increased damage (can last for multiple magic phases)

Savage Dominion – Summon a Doombull for the casters’s team (will die when caster dies)
