1. Monitoring Arrangements
All activities will be monitored on a daily basis by Site Manager, Supervisors and
Safety Inspector

2. Hazards
The following hazards have been identified and actions taken to reduce the risk, as
identified in section 12 (Risk Assessments)

a) Noise, Dust, fames and asbestos, Cuts, abrasions and soft tissue damage
b) Toxic wastes, Struck by falling materials
c) Storing Stocking Materials
d) Skin and eye irritating see attached Risk assessment
e) Heat Stress, fainting

4. Training Requirements
 Only competent and trained personnel will be used.
 All Operators will be properly trained and where necessary certified.
 Only trained banks man will be used - if required

5. Materials
a. Previously approved Tile adhesive, Tiles and Grout
b. Trowel
c. Rubber Mallet
d. Sponge
e. Concrete Vacuum

6. Plant & Equipment


a) Paddle Mixer if required

7. Methodology and Sequence of Works:


a) Pre- commencement check:
1. All operatives shall attend safety induction with original emirates ID / visa
copy.
2. Trade license copy and workmen compensation insurance copy will be
submitted for all contractors.
3. All operatives shall wear PPE and task based PPE when applicable.
4. Pre-start briefing shall be briefed every day to all operatives by supervisor
every day on site before commencement of work.

b) Loading & Unloading of Materials:


1. Materials will be unloaded by fork truck/ JCB backhoe or by hand
depending on weight.
2. Store COSHH material on elevated platforms under cover and in dry
location.

c) Tiling
1. Floor and wall will be cleaned thoroughly and to be free of excess plaster,
oil, dirt and other deleterious materials
2. A full tiling setting out will be done and agreed prior to installation as per
approved drawing
3. Finished Floor Level will be achieved using a semi dry mixed screed to
the previously marked levels
4. The screed will then be manually compacted rather than mechanically to
avoid damage to the services bellow.
5. It will then be tamped and trowel to the desired level allowing for any
slopes that may be required
6. A cement based slurry will then be poured over the semi dry screed so
that full strength will be achieved and for tile fixing

7. The tiles will then be directly placed on the screed bed
8. Tiles will be pressed down on the bed and levelled. Tamp the tile with a
rubber mallet to obtain required adhesion and level.
9. Spacers will be inserted to keep a uniform pattern to align horizontal and
vertical joints.
10. Tiles will be cleaned as they are laid, excessive mix/adhesive shall be
removed with a damp cloth before the material has set.
11. Grout will be applied sometime after the tiles being laid
12. Grout shall be applied to the spaces between the tiles using a sponge or a
small piece of cloth. Making sure the surface is free of any grout but the
joint is properly filled .
13. Work area will be left clean and tidy on a daily basis

The following works have been identified as interfacing and included in the risk
assessment

9. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)


 All operatives, when on site, will wear safety helmets, safety footwear, ,
gloves as necessary, glasses/goggles as necessary and high visibility vests,
at all times.
 When any activity entails the possibility of skin injury from cement based
materials, welding sparks or burning activities, further protection will be worn
to cover exposed skin areas.

10. Lifting Equipment

11. Permits to Work.


 Work permit will be obtained from the client before mobilizing to site.
 A designated area shall be required to keep the skip for disposing the debris
& Unloading the materials
 However to be determined by client before work commences

12. Access/Working at Heights


 Access to carry out works above ground level will be accessed by use of
ladders and scaffold. Ladder and scaffold prior to use must be inspected by a
competent person for visible defects on a periodic basis. Metal ladders must
have rubber shoes fixed its base all the time and adequate strength and
sound of construction.

In the event short term access is required, ladders, suitably and properly
attended will be used.

13. Night Time Working


Not Applicable

14. Manual Handling


 All the debris created will be removed manually by using shovel, Wheel
borrows.
The safety inspector will continually monitor any risk assessment factors of all
manual handling activities. Provide Tool Box talk by Site supervisor Using of
correct Manual Handling Techniques. And recorded.
15. Housekeeping
All the debris airing from demolition will be cleared to the Dubai Municipality yard on
regular basis.

16. Noise & Vibration


Ear defenders or plugs will be used whenever demolition is in operation

17. Traffic Management


N/A

18. Protection of Others


Site will be fully sectioned off to all 3rd party persons. No hotel guests shall be able to
enter site and relevant signs, warnings and barriers will be installed to prevent this
occurrence from happening

19. Health & Welfare Arrangements


All necessary Health & welfare arrangements will be provided by Hennessey LLC

20. Emergency Arrangements


In case of any Incident Accident happened All personnel will undergo Hennessey
safety procedure induction by the safety inspector and be made aware of emergency
arrangements/procedures. All Emergency Contact No. and emergency procedure
Signage provided at visible area.
