SECTION 1 – Guidance for the users of the scaffoldings


a. Users of the scaffold are directly responsible for ensuring the structure is used only for its intended purpose and within
its specified loading limits.
b. Users must ensure the scaffold is not interfered with e.g. removal of ties, guardrails or platform boards, overloaded with
materials, modified e.g. by sheeting a scaffold that is not suitable for extra wind loading this imposes on the structure.
c. Any modifications of the scaffold must be carried out only by our experienced trained scaffolders.
d. Every user of a scaffold must check the structure before use
e. Any queries or concern relating to use of the scaffold should be raised with ABC management

SECTION 2 – Scaffold Details


a. The Suspended Scaffold to used is a G.I Pipe-Coupler System
b. Scaffold Pipe will be used as hangers for monkey ladders as access.
c. 50mmx100mmx1.5 mm thick C-purlins will be used as platform.
d. Monkey Ladder is fabricated/welded using 16mm diameter deformed bar.
e. Scaffolding are limited up to 4 persons per set up of scaffolding brackets.

SECTION 4 – Manpower and Competency


No. of Operatives involved: 10
a. Operatives are well-trained and had 5 years of experience.
b. Scaffold supervisor is a well-trained and had a 20 years of experience work at heights.

SECTION 5 – Equipment to be used


The scaffold will be constructed of scaffold tubes, scaffold fittings, ladders and couplers
a. Materials will be free from visual damage that will foreseeably affect its performance whilst in use.
b. Materials are visually inspected prior to issue from warehouse.
c. Materials will be visually inspected prior to use by the operative, defective materials will be segregated to prevent use.

SECTION 6 – Loading and Unloading Arrangements


Materials will be unloaded/ loaded utilizing the following method:
a. Manual Handling
b. Site Crane
c. Site forklift or tele-handler

SECTION 7 – Raising and Lowering Materials


All materials will be raised and lowered in a controlled manner by:
a. Using goods hoist.
b. Using a gin wheel and or rope
c. Chaining from person to person

SECTION 8 – Personal Protective Equipment


The following PPE will be worn during our activities:
a. Safety Helmet
b. Safety Harness
c. Hi-visibility Vest

SECTION 9 – Emergency Procedures


a. We will comply with the site emergency procedures as detailed in site induction/health and safety plan.
b. The building owner will provide first aid personnel and facilities on site.
c. Operatives will initially report any accident/incident to their immediate supervisor.

SECTION 10 – Erection Procedures


Please note that dismantling will be the sequential reverse of the erection process.

a. Operatives will be briefed on the work to be carried out and will acknowledge the briefing.
b. Operatives must be aware of their surroundings and must work safely. They must ensure they are looking where they are
walking and working, and must not step onto or over debris. Tripping or slipping hazards must be avoided where
possible. Access routes should be chosen to be those that are free from obvious hazards. Necessary protection/barriers
must be place before the bracket installation to avoid damages on the adjacent side of the building. Any uncontrolled
hazards must be reported to immediate supervisor.
c. Before installing the Ladder brackets. Operatives will secure the scaffolding anchored and fixed to the existing dowels
to the roof parapets that will serve as the main support for the entire scaffolding frames. The main supports are located
in both ends of the scaffolding frames and connected to each other along the existing roof pitch.
d. Ladder Bracket Frames will install by phase to reduce the weight of the scaffold bracket on roof.
e. Monkey Ladders and Platforms are to be erected/install progressively with the scaffold bracket frames.
f. On completion of the scaffold all spare materials will be cleared from the work area and stored in an agreed position or
removed from site.
g. Please see attached pictures for reference.

SECTION 11 – Inspection Procedures


a. It is the supervisor responsibility to ensure that on a daily basis the installed scaffold will be inspected and correct if
there’s any defective/damage scaffold tube needed tobe replaced.

SECTION 12 – Dismantling Procedures


a. The location where the scaffold is to be dismantled, the method statement and risk assessment will be shown to the
operatives by supervision and relevant hazards and preventive/control measures will be explained.
b. The supervisor will initially inspect the scaffold to ensure that coupler and brackets are still intact and that platforms are
clear of debris.
c. The scaffold will then be dismantled methodically
d. Scaffolders and supervisor will ensure that the structure remains stable and that it does not become overloaded with
dismantled materials.
e. No materials will be bombed, all fittings will be bagged or passed by hand to ground level.
f. In general, scaffolds will be dismantled in the reverse order to the erection procedure.
g. On completion, all materials will be cleared from the work area and stored in an agreed position or removed from site.
h. A final visual check will be made by the Contractor prior to leaving site.
