THE HIDDEN INJURIES OF THE POOR

By: Randy David

Questions:

The introduction talks a lot about how the poor are usually treated in a society. It says
how hopeless they are.

1. What are the injuries of the poor?

The injuries of the poor are humiliation, accusation of a crime they never committed
and neglection by people to whom they have given their unconditional loyalty when
they need help.

2. How does media help ease the pain and sufferings of the poor?
The provided programs in the media in which they could relate their situation with
makes them feel that there's still hope for them and helps ease the pain and suffering
of the poor.

3. How did “Erap” become a form of escapism for the poor?

Erap, being perceived as one of the Filipino poor, became a form of escapism for the
poor when he became the president of the Philippines.

4. If Erap had used his charm with the poor positively, what could have happened to him
and the poor people?
He could’ve had the full support of the Filipino people like that of President Cory
Aquino.

5. How could a president of a nation use this scenario to genuinely give a brighter future
to the suffering of the poor?
A president could use this scenario as a basis of what could happen if he did the same
and act the same as Erap did—he/she should not be consumed with success. We
need leadership that takes conservative principles and applies them so that people
can rise.

THANK YOU, MA’AM! KEEP SAFE & GOD BLESS.
