Instructions to Student:
Background
You have been employed by Navitas Professional Services for 6 months and are working in a professional accounting,
engineering or IT role. You have been recognised for your ability to negotiate workplace relationships well. Your team are shortly
undergoing a significant restructure.
1. There will be three people (currently unknown) who will be made redundant within the next three months.
2. The workloads from these three people are to be shared equally amongst the team members who remain. They will
receive no further remuneration, and will be given four weeks to learn the processes. However, the learning will have
to take place alongside the work they are already doing.
3. There will be one promotion to team leader level emerging from the restructure. This kind of promotion is extremely
unusual due to high staff retention within the organisation. Navitas Professional Services will seek to recruit internally.
Task
1. Using Vimeo, create a communication for staff explaining these changes and inviting them to ask questions or give
feedback.
3. Identify three specific points you think will be met with resistance by staff and describe what strategy you will use to
address the resistance should it happen.
