At the end of the discussion, students are expected to:

1. Know how rhythm develops the child’s understanding of music.


2. Value and appreciate the importance of rhythm in understanding music and child’s
development.

A. PREPARATORY STAGE
Key points:
Rhythm and the Child Development, rhythm in speech, rhythm in
movement, the pulse, meter, durations and their patterns, rhythm mnemonics,
notations for reading rhythms, syncopations, and polyrhythm.

B. LEARNING STAGE
1. EXPLORE
The facilitators will show the students set of pictures and the students will
combine the picture to come up with the word “Rhythm”

2. FIRM UP
The facilitators will relate the word from the activity to the lesson which is
rhythm and the child.
