SUMMARY OF STRATEGIC PLANNING

1. How can the employer introduce the vision and mission to the employees?
The owner or chairman of the company/institution reinforces the company vision by
tying it to team and individual goals. The vision statement of any company should be tied
to achievable goals for employees. Promote the company vision by always making sure
it's visible.

2. What is meant by defining identity in the first purpose of strategic planning?


Defining identity in strategic planning means to determine the goal-setting and clarify the
company vision. It also provides organizations with a clearer sense of who they are and
what their purposes are.

3. For Gap Analysis, you have two opportunities and treats. So what are opportunities
and please give example?
There are two opportunity in Gap Analysis. They are internal factor (these are
organization structure, organizational culture, politics, process, and size); and external
factor (such as; economic, politics/legal, social, technological, competitor, customers, and
suppliers)

4. What factors are possibly contributing to the change of institution vision?


A vision is a statement of future aspirations. In other words, the vision statement includes
a description of what the organization would like to become in the future (about 10 years
in the future). The changing of institution vision is depending on the mission of
institution. If the mission is changed, the vision will do. Vision cannot be separated from
mission.

5. What is your opinion about changing the organization vision and mission when
structure of leader/manager change?
Every company/institution needs change. It based on the analysis strategic done by the
company. Different leader/manager has different vision and mission. Considering the
result of analysis, the leader might apply new approach and resetting the goal to achieve
better future of the company.

6. What is the difference between organization structure and culture?


Culture is the mores & norms, both implicit & explicit that defines all levels of behavior
within an organization. Structure is the network of formal & informal relationships,
including lines of communication & authority, etc., that allow an organization to
function.

7. Why politics always related to strategic planning?


Politics is one of list of external factor that should be considered in any environmental
analysis. Political will change the planning and setting goal and effect the strategic
planning.

8. Explain of the size of organization!

Organizational Size can be defined as a structural property (like degree of formalization)


or a contextual variable (like demand). It's a property at the interface between internal
structures and the environment.
