Abstract

This study aimed to assess the viability of establishing an eco-themed


restaurant in Otucan Sur, Bauko, Mountain Province in terms of marketing,
technical, management, socio-economic, accounting and financial aspects; and
the factors affecting the viability of establishing an eco-themed restaurant in
Otucan Sur, Mountain Province. It made use of descriptive method and it
involved 393 respondents. The researchers used the Slovin’s formula to
compute the sample size. Questionnaire was used as a primary gathering tool
and supplemented with interview.
The findings show that establishing an eco-themed restaurant in Bauko,
Mountain Province is viable in terms of marketing, technical, management,
socio-economic, accounting and financial aspects. The factors that affect most
the viability of establishing a healthy restaurant in Bontoc, Mountain Province are
the quality of food and service of the business, the price affordability of the
products to be offered by the business and the health benefits of the products.
On the other hand, the factors that least affect the viability of establishing a
healthy restaurant in Bontoc, Mountain Province are the trend of healthy lifestyle,
community reaction towards healthy products and lastly is the presence of
competitors in the market.
Therefore, it is recommended that an eco-themed restaurant be
established in Bauko, Mountain Province and that the health benefits, quality and
prices of the product offered and services by the business should be given the
most attention in putting up a healthy restaurant in Población, Bontoc, Mountain
Province.
