sheets/bags
● Yale University is holding a virtual math seminar over Discrepancy
Theory & Randomized Controlled Trials

● In order to get credit for hours, you must write a small 4-6 sentence
summary of what you learned and a screenshot of the Zoom call as
proof.
● You submit the summary and screenshot the day of the Seminar
● Officers will be monitoring participants so make sure you stay the whole
time to earn credit. Failure to do so will result in no hours.
● Earn 1 hour and 30 mins!
● Some people have still not paid dues!
● We will be opening up Revtrak for just next week so anyone who has not paid
dues/shirt fee can do so!(Closes on the Jan. 29th)
○ Reminder that ONLY NEW MEMBERS must pay dues and tshirt fee!
○ Old Members DO NOT HAVE TO PAY DUES, but may purchase a tshirt if you
would like

● If you do not pay dues by the end of the week (1/22), you will not be counted
as a MAO member!
● Videos should teach a math lesson in an interesting or innovative way and will be
judged on the originality of their presentation
● Videos must be from two to five minutes in length
● Top 3 will be submitted to the national Mu Alpha Theta chapter fora chance to win
prize money ($375)!
● Hours based on the quality of the video! (0-3)
● Submission open February 1st and closes on February 28th

● MAO is partnering with UCAN to participate in their book drive
● In an effort to spread literacy around the globe, UCAN is accepting book donations to
help build libraries in impoverished areas!
● Drop off @ the Pavilion near the Riverstone Clubhouse
○ January 16th : 10 am - 12 pm
○ January 31st : 2 pm - 4 pm
○ February 13th : 10 am - 12 pm
○ February 28th : 2 pm - 4 pm
○ March 13th : 10 am - 12 pm

accept!
● Must sign up for a time slot :
● Drop Off Instructions:
○ Have your books in a ziploc/plastic bag
○ Have your books counted beforehand and on a sticky note, write your
name, number of books, and what club you’re donating for.
● You may earn 1 hour for every 5 books you donate
○ Cap of 2 hours
● UCAN is offering the following incentive:
○ Raffle for $10 gift card : 1 entry for every 10 books donated
● Submit picture of books donated on the MAO website
● All this information can be found on UCAN’s instagram as well!
● We are putting gift baskets together for residents at Inspired Living to let them
know that their community is there for them! Help our cause by donating
various gift items.
● For every 10 dollars spent is equal to 1 hour and 5 dollars equal to ½ hour.
○ On the sign up, you will see specifications for the quantities to donate. For
example, if one slot says 10+ count per slot, that means you are expected
to donate ten of the respective items to earn one hour.
○ Many items can be found at dollar stores or for inexpensive costs at
places like Target or Walmart. Please don't spend an excessive amount for
this event!
○ Items must be new and unused.
● Cap of 3 slots for this event
● 3 hours max
● Cancellations 48-hours or fewer prior to the drop-off will result in a 2
volunteer hour penalty.
● Must take picture of receipt and submit to MAO submission link on our
website
