Vector
All vector quantities can be shown by an arrow. Arrow head represents the direction of
vector and length of arrow shows the value of vector. Force, displacement, velocity,
acceleration, all these vector quantities represented by arrows.

Resultant of vector is determined by vector addition.

When two vectors have same direction then resultant is found by direct addition. (Adding
values of two vectors)

Resultant, R= P+Q

=6+3

=9 rightward.

When two vectors act in the opposite direction, then resultant is found subtracting the
values of two vectors.

Resultant, R= 6-3

= 3 N acts leftward.

When two vectors act at an angle, resultant is found by vector triangle.

Triangle theorem:

When two vectors are represented by two sides of a triangle in the same sequence.(head to tail)

Here BA represents the

Resultant of ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
BC and ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
CA.
