4.5.1 Susceptibility to hearing loss

Overall, most participants (61%) had a positive response towards susceptibility to HL and
therefore had a lower chance of developing HL.

4.5.2 Severity of the consequences of hearing loss

Overall, majority of participants (66%) had a positive response towards the severity of HL,
implying that they understood well the severity of the consequences of HL.

Overall, 58% or participants showed a positive response towards the benefits of preventative
action and understood the benefits thereof.

From the above, 50% of participants showed positive responses to the barriers to preventative
action, implying that they understood what was expected of them in terms of HP compliance.

Overall, from the above figures, responses towards behavioural intentions yielded mostly
positive responses (64%), indicative that participants would display positive behaviours in
relation to wearing HP.

Overall, participants had a positive response (64%) towards social norms, implying that they
would display positive group conduct in the workplace.

Overall, participants displayed positive responses (73%) towards self-efficacy, implying that
participants would execute matters towards HP a positive manner.
