EPC 2021 Elder Care Shepherd Groups
• Each elder has been assigned one elder, one shut-in, one out-
of-towner and several members and regular attendees to
oversee.
• Contacts can be made through phone calls, text messages,
emails, regular mail, or in person (safely).
• On your initial contact, please do the following:
Introduce yourself to the member. Share your contact
information and the best time/way to reach you. This
communication needs to work both ways. Members
should be encouraged to contact you if they have cares
or concerns as well as you contacting them.
Verify that the information in the Church Directory for the
member is correct --- address, phone numbers (cell and
home), birthdates, email addresses, and family
members. Notify Sheryl Wright of any corrections
that need to be made.
If you have members who live alone ask them if they
would like to participate in Phone Pals --- a program in
which a volunteer calls them daily to check on them. We
will be setting this up if there is a need. Notify Sheryl
Wright if you have members who are interested.
• Try to intentionally connect with the members of your group
at least once a month. Remember holidays and special
occasions.
• We will notify you of special needs of the members within your
Shepherd Group if possible. (Such as illnesses, surgeries,
special prayer requests.)
