 You started off with more energy today
 You tried hard to do lots of eliciting during
the clarification stage (5)
 and asked some helpful CCQs to check the
meaning this time
 And you clarified the difference in register (6)
 And went over the form (7)
 You shared your screen for the controlled
practice
 And gave countdowns so they knew how
much time was left during this stage
 You just about managed to squeeze in time
for some freer practice and gave a
personalised example but (8)
 You established some rapport and at the end
said it had been a pleasure (but you didn’t
smile!)

 You need to monitor each BOR quickly to
check the ss are on task. Paula was on her
own the first time you put them in BORs –
you should have realised this. Make sure you
share yourself evenly among the ss – the
second time you put them in BORs you spent
ages with Laura and Yuliana, then went briefly
to Caro and Enrique but didn’t monitor Paula
and Magalí at all.
 Nominate sb for fb and make sure you provide  (7) but there was no mention of the pron and you
a written record or the correct answers to the
controlled practice.
 (8) you started the freer practice with two
minutes to go 
 You still need to work on the delivery of your
instructions. Try practising on a peer!

 (1) but there is no stage aim for the controlled
practice. And be careful of the wording of your
stage aims. Why not copy and paste from the
models?
 (2) but you need to order the procedure step by
step as you will do it in the classroom so that it’s
more user-friendly. You have written ‘have the
docs open beforehand’ right in the middle of the
clarification procedure. This needs to be right at
the beginning of your lesson. Have a look at the
model plan I shared of yesterday’s demo lesson
for an example of a logically ordered, detailed
procedure.
 (3) but you’re not using the correct
template as there was no column for my
comments. I have had to copy and paste your
entire LP onto the correct template  Please
make sure you use this template for TP6.
 (4) but try to use the animations feature rather
than just giving it to them, so you can provide the
answers after they tell you what they are.
 Make sure you put your name on their google
docs as well as theirs – remember they have 3
docs each day so it makes it easier to identify.
Some of them had problems finding their doc.
Classroom Teaching Skills
 The ss needed the chance to do the GD on their
own first and then check in pairs in BORs – this
way they would have been better able to get their
heads round the grammar. And you could have
monitored a couple of google docs at this stage to
see how well they were coping.
 (5) but once again, you ended up doing an awful
lot of explaining which meant the lesson was very
teacher-centred due to all the TTT.
 (6) but don’t then tell them not to use it! Why
would you be teaching it?!
didn’t provide them with a clear written record of
the answers. Share the doc/your ppt. Feedback to
the GD/clarification needed to be more directive.
Ask the questions on the GD and elicit these
answers – they started to give their own opinions;
you need to keep them focused on the language.
You gave a lot of the answers yourself – ask if the
others can help.

Overall comment
Although you made some progress in some areas of your teaching today Leandro (see above), especially
with CCQs, your lack of progress with basic classroom management and the fact that you are still not
showing that you have fully assimilated the lesson procedure and techniques for a grammar lesson,
meant that you were unable to achieve your lesson aims today. Next week you will have to show that
you can do this successfully if you are to pass the course.

For TP6, try to really focus on just two of your personal aims e.g. instructions and feedback, so that you
don’t get overwhelmed. Once these are hopefully in place, you can focus on others for TP7. You will still
need to achieve your lesson aims.

I know you are making a great effort – keep up the hard work and keep on asking questions until you
have your next lesson clear in your head. Then make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to practise
delivering the lesson. Onwards and upwards!
