What is UMI ?
United Mining Industries is a joint-Venture of three major companies in
construction and Building Materials Industry in GCC which are Al Muhaidip, AL
Mojel and Al Rashed. UMI aims to enhance the quality of Gypsum Products in local
and regional market and provide efficient & Economical solutions for the shortage
in housing locally & regionally. Having raw material, low energy cost and being
located in the middle of the region help to provide building and housing sectors
with un-costly high quality Gypsum & Cement Board Products in short notice.
Beside the raw material quarries, the manufacturing facility in Yanbu-KSA built
over an area of 114,000 m² to include Head office, gypsum Powder Plant, Gypsum
Board Plant, Ware House and facility buildings, with capacity of production of 34
million m² and can reach up to 50 millions m².

UMI - HISTORY & MISSION

UMI (United Mining Industries Ltd.) Fiber Cement Board and Plasterboard
manufacturing company based in Saudi Arabian that produces fiber cement and
plasterboard and related accessories products for Domestic and Export Marketing.
UMI is a joint venture company of three major Groups in Construction and
Building Materials Industry in GCC which are Al Muhaidib, Al Mojel and Al Rashed.
Initially producing Gypsum Powder from our own quarry in Yanbu, KSA diversified
into Plasterboards, Joint Compound and Fiber Cement Board.
UMI’s mission to enhance the quality of Fiber Cement Board products in local and
regional market to provide efficient, eco-friendly and economical solutions. Having
locally procured major raw materials (excluding Fiber Pulp), low energy cost and
being located in the middle of the region helps us to provide excellent Product to
help sustain Green Building Solutions. Our aim is to save environment and protect
our ecological atmosphere. We use GREEN materials to produce and FCB is
recyclable and degenerate material. UNICEM Fiber Cement Boards are
manufactured to meet requirements of ISO 8336:2009 and ASTM C1186 (2012).

UNITED DRYWALL
A drywall is a Quick and simple
construction with high-quality & high
performance lightweight interior
wall system consisting of a GI steel frame
encased with gypsum plasterboards on either
side attached with self-drilling drywall screws.
The joints are then taped and finished
with gypsum jointing compounds. There are
many types depending on the activity and the
place where it will be installed.

Note:
• United X-Ray room Drywall Comprises of double layer partition, with single layer of 3mm
Lead Laminated ( X-Ray ) board fixed up to the height of X-ray’s Source passing. The X-
ray board consists of 3mm lead sheet laminated on a special gypsum board. Lead strips
of 3mm thick x 40mm width is glue fixed on the metal studs along the flanges facing the
X-ray source before installing the boards to stop the rays from the board joints.

The lining provides fire resistance and acoustic

upgrades to structural steel sections clad with
lightweight metal sheeting, and can also
be used in within new or existing
masonry walls to increase sound insulation and
meet stringent thermal performance
requirements
United Independent Liner System Uses C-
studs & U Tracks fixed between the floor & Roof
Slab. There won’t be any contact between the
Liner Wall & the Block work or any other
substances. Once the framing done , MEP work
will be done if any required & Insulation fixed in
the stud cavity ( if required ). After that
appropriate boards will be selected based on
the area of use and fixed on the stud.

United Regular Gypsum Boards are produced from high purity natural gypsum core to offer its
consistent properties and Mechanical strength to the boards. The core is encased in dense natural-
finish paper liners.

UNICEM United Fibre Cement Boards are test for 0.21 W/mK for 6mm thick board.
Effect of Temperature:
UNICEM United Fibre Cement Boards are not recommended to be stored in temperature
above 500 for prolonged period.
Effect of condensation:
UNICEM United Fibre Cement Boards are vapour permeable. If vapour condenses on the
surface, the board will retain its strength.

Studs are the Primary sections used in the Drywall & Lining Systems. Studs used in Vertical

are fixed between the Base & Head Track, Screwed only with the Base track & Friction fit at

position and it helps in aligning the Boards.

UMI C CLAMPS
The C clamps are made in C Shape with GI Steel Strips, slightly bigger
than main channel dimensions to accommodate inside. These strong
bracket will hold the main channel for suspended ceilings of limited
loads by the means of 6 mm threaded rod.
UMI THREADED ROD

Threaded Rods with Nut & Washer are used as a suspension member of
Concealed Ceiling System, Which holds the Main channel with use of C
Clamps
UMI SELF THREADED SCREWS

Heavy duty self tapping bugle head screw with head diameter of 8 mm,
are self tapping fasteners for multiple layer drywalls, insulation and
accessory mountings on steel structures up to 0.8 mm thickness.
UMI SELF DRILLING SCREWS

Heavy duty drill point bugle head screw with head diameter of 8 mm,
are self drilling fasteners for multiple layer drywalls, insulation and
accessory mountings on steel structures up to 3.0 mm thickness.
UMI LAMINATING SCREWS

Laminating Screws are fasteners for directly laminating gypsum boards
together when used in more than 1 layers as well as fastening
accessories to multiple gypsum board layer linings. .

UMI All Purpose Ready Mix / Non asbestos Joint Compound is
composed of vinyl binders & other Ingredients that give superior

UMI JOINTING TAPE

UMI Tape is a Fibre Glass Drywall Tape, Which is made with unique
Cross-Fibreglass Construction to provide greater Strength to Drywall
Joints. Also can be used in fixing damages, small cracks or Holes.
GLASSWOOL INSULATION
Glass wool is an insulation material made from fibers of glass arranged
using a binder & Resins into a texture similar to wool Due to its
Resilience, it recover to its nominal thickness after removal of a normal
compressive Load.
ROCKWOOL INSULATION
Rockwool insulation is made from rocks and minerals. Rockwool
insulation also called stone wool insulation, mineral wool insulation.
Due to its excellent ability to prevent sound and heat. Rockwool
insulation is widely used in Residential commercial & Hospital building.
