YOUR

DREAM
OUTFIT
Government and non-government schemes to help the business
Starting “Your dream
outfit”

• As per our business plan, one of the first things we would require is funds and
investors.
• Along with that, help with resources, and subsidized products/resources would
be another big help in our project.
• Promoting our business, helping our small business grow, is another thing we
would require.
• Here are some government and non-government schemes, that could help us
grow our business.
Government schemes • The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)
• Launched by the NITI Aayog, the WEP is for budding and existing women
entrepreneurs across India.
• It is divided into three aspects:
• Iccha Shakti: motivating women entrepreneurs to start their business
• Gyaan Shakti: Provides knowledge and ecosystem
• Karma Shakti: Provides hands-on support to entrepreneurs to set up or
scale business
• Women at the ideation stage and established startups can register for the
scheme. Corporates, NGO, organization, incubators can also apply provided
that they are supporting women in any form.
• WEP also offers incubation and acceleration support to startups founded or co-
founded by women.
• The scheme will include benefits like free credit ratings, mentorship, funding
support to women entrepreneurs, apprenticeship and corporate partnerships.

With two women founding the business, this scheme could help our business
exponentially.
• Swarojgar Credit Card
• Small artisans including micro-entrepreneurs, Mall artisans, Handloom
weavers, Service sector, Fishermen, self-employed persons, rickshaw owners,
other micro-enterprises are eligible for the Swarojgar Credit Card.
• Under this scheme, a loan of Rs 25,000 will be given per person and the interest
and margin will be as per RBI’s norm.
• The applicant will also be given a credit card along with a passbook for working
capital requirements. The charge of issue or processing card will not be more
than Rs 50.
• The scheme is normally valid for 5 years subject to satisfactory operation of the
account and renewed on a yearly basis through a simple review process.

This scheme could help the business as we would be eligible to take part as
micro-entrepreneurs.
• Raw Material Assistance scheme
• In order to encourage entrepreneurs to improve the quality of their products,
this scheme under the National Small Industries Corporation finances the
purchase of indigenous and exported raw materials.
• The scheme covers the material procurement in bulk and cash discounts for a
period of 180 days
• Only entrepreneurs of micro, small and medium scale industries can apply for
the scheme.
• Once the application form is submitted, the NSIC will conduct a unit inspection
and then sanction the limit post.

Getting good quality materials and subsidized products was one of the
requirements of our business, which this scheme could help us out with.
• Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
• To support the micro-enterprise sector MUDRA scheme provides loans up to
ten lakhs without collaterals. Enterprises wanting to expand in fields of
technology up-gradation or other projects can also take advantage of this
scheme.
• The scheme is divided into three modules:
• Shishu : covering loans up to Rs 50,000/-
• Kishor : covering loans above Rs 50,000/- and up to Rs 5 lakh
• Tarun : covering loans above Rs 5 lakh and up to Rs 10 lakh

With our plan to digitize our business, where a large part of our USP thrives on our digital
app and website, this scheme could help us as we grow our business through technology.
• Sustainable Finance Scheme
• This scheme provides financial assistance in the form of loans for sustainable
development projects that contribute to energy efficiency and cleaner
production.
• All sustainable development projects such as renewable energy projects,
Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) star rating, green microfinance, green
buildings and eco-friendly labelling, etc. are applicable.

One of our biggest promises as a business is to stay sustainable and ethical and
that is where this scheme could help us grow.
Non-government • A lot of non-profit organizations and institutions help out small businesses.

schemes • Here are a few that could potentially help our business

• Deshpande Foundation
• Driven by the belief that well-planned and well-developed solutions which
have a long term impact are the only way forward for the country, Deshpande
Foundation creates an eco-system that nurtures innovation and
entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs are given the chance to interact with others,
to come up with enterprises that are not only sustainable and scalable, but that
have a long term social and economic impact as well.

A foundation that helps small businesses grow, this could create contacts for us
with other entrepreneurs and help us prepare a long term plan for our business.
• Marico Innovation Foundation
• Established in 2003, the Marico Innovation Foundation has made a name for
itself with the ‘direct impact’ innovations it has helped nature and implement
in the areas of renewable energy, waste management, employability,
livelihood and healthcare. The organization does not provide funding, but does
offer social entrepreneurs with access to networks of experts, CSR
foundations, pro-bono experts, B-school students, corporate volunteers,
impact investors as well as other incubators and accelerators under their Social
Innovation Acceleration Program (SIAP).

To further help our sustainable ambitions, this foundation will guide and
mentor us as they provide us with a network of experts and CSR foundations.
• Ennovent
• In 2008, Ennovent started out by investing in innovations that aimed at
improving the lives of people in low-income markets in India. Today, Ennovent
is a global innovation company that has broadened its operations to discover,
startup, finance and scale business innovations for sustainability. They work
with entrepreneurs, investors, enablers, corporations, innovators and their
ever-expanding global Innovation Community to jointly develop, fund and
implement customized Innovation Solutions to some of the toughest
challenges facing the developing world.
• ‘Impact before profit’ is the mantra of this global business innovation company
which has accelerated over 250 innovations in over 15 countries across Asia,
Africa, Europe and the Americas
since 2008.

Another foundation that could help our business grow, as they guide us into making a strong long term plan.
With help in the form of funds and guidance through experts, this could help our business grow exponentially.
