We’ve got a long journey ahead of us tomorrow, so we’re leaving the camp early. I
suggested 7.00 or 7.30, but the group leader has said 5.15! The van we were planning
to go in has developed engine problems, so we’re off in a minibus – much more
comfortable! Everyone’s packed all the usual things like clothes and water, but I’ve
also put in lots of music – it’s a long journey and we’ll need something to listen to.
It’s quite cool here during the night, but on the way the temperatures will rise, so I’m
prepared for hot weather! It hasn’t rained here for days, so it’s unlikely to be wet. I’m
hoping we’ll see lots of animals on the way, like monkeys, but I’m told they always
run away when vehicles approach. But I know there are wonderful birds living in this
area, so there’s a chance we’ll see them.
We’ll need a break along the way, so we’ll relax for a while by the river – we’ll be
following that for part of our journey to the lake, where we’ll stay the night.
