2. TEST LIGHT In this section we have 2 control switches and 20 indicator lights with which we can observe the activation
of different computer outputs. For example, we can observe that the PCM activates the Relay output of the fuel pump
for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is switched on..

a) Switch "Power / +30": this switch controls the general power of the Test Bank. It is equivalent to connecting /
disconnecting the positive terminal of the car battery.

b) Switch "Run / +15": this switch controls the "Signal on / ignition" of the Test Bench. It is equivalent to placing the
car ignition switch in the “On” position.

c) MIL: Check Engine Light - Active by GND

d) Inmo: Immobilizer Witness - Active by GND

e) Alt .: Alternator Light - Active by GND

f) ASD: Chrysler Auto Shutdown Relay - GND Activated

g) SVS: “Required Service” Light - Active by GND

h) Main: Main Relay - Active by GND

i) F. Pump .: Petrol Pump Relay - Activated by GND

j) P. Inc .: Pre-heaters for Diesel engines - Activated by GND

k) Fan H: High speed electric fan relay - Activated by GND

l) Fan L: Low speed electric fan relay - Activated by GND

m) 8V: 8V output from Chrysler computers - Active by Positive voltage

n) 5V: ECU 5V output - Active by Positive voltage

o) GND: GND that the ECU places on the sensors - Active by GND

p) IAC: Indicator lights to verify the outputs of the ECU that go to the IAC - Active with 12V and GND that the ECU
places to the IAC. It will light red or green depending on where the ECU places the 12V / GND

q) ETH: Indicator light to verify the output of the ECU that goes to the Electronic Acceleration Body - Active with GND
variable duty cycle signal

Where this indicator is present we find a terminal which can be used to connect a multimeter or oscilloscope
to be able to measure the signal that the computer is sending and thus be able to verify that it is 100%
correct in addition to observing the activation of the LED.

3. INJECTOR AND COIL SIGNAL DISPLAY TABLE. Here we can observe the operation of the outputs of the computer
that give signal to injectors and ignition coils. Through the switches we can select whether positive signals (P +) or
negative signals (P-) are detected

Where this indicator is present we find two terminals which can connect a real load (injector / ignition coil) and
thus be able to verify that the signal that the computer is sending is 100% correct in addition to observing the
activation of the LED.

4. GENERAL CONTROL. Here through the Pushbutton (I / O) and the knob (Control) we can choose between the 6
functions:

CKP / CMP simulator

Injector Tester

2-3-wire IAC Valve Tester

4-6 wire IAC Valve Tester

Electronic Accelerator Tester

Curve Tracer

IN THE MANUAL OF THE “CKP / CMP SIMULATOR” THE FUNCTIONING OF THIS TEST BANK SECTION IS
EXPLAINED

5. SWITCHING BOX: here there are 3 switches that place 12V or GND directly and in the intermediate position
"disconnected" and 3 switches that place 5V or GND direct and in the intermediate position "disconnected". An LED to the
right of the switche will turn red or green depending on the voltage applied by the switche and will turn off if the switche is
in the intermediate position (disconnected).

They can be used to power automotive parts with a consumption of less than 2Amp for 12V switches, or less than 1Amp
for 5V switches. For example: 2 switches can be used to power a TPS (by placing a switch in GND and another in 5V) and thus be
able to test it with a voltmeter or oscilloscope.

6. SENSOR SET: Here the analog signals are simulated and can be controlled manually:

TPS, MAP, MAF: Variable voltage from 0 to 5V

IAT, ECT: Variable resistance from 0 to 2Kohm

And the digital signals:

MAP / ABS1, MAF / ABS2, VSS / ABS3 and Tach / ABS4: Square signal of 5V amplitude and variable frequency
between 0Hz and 10KHz (these values can be modified without prior notice).

Depending on the type of sensor, the power supply and / or GND are already internally wired, for this reason only the
signal cable is present in the connection. For example, to connect the simulated TPS signal to the ECU, only the TPS signal cable
is present in connector 4, because this TPS already has 5V and GND connected inside the test bench.

EXAMPLE OF OPERATION

JEEP WRANGLER 2002 ENGINE COMPU TER, SCANNER, BOARD AND CLUSTER CONNECTION 4.0L
ENGINE

In this section we will indicate step by step how to make the connection of a Jeep Wrangler 2.002 engine computer, 4.0L engine,
and several additional accessories, to make the general diagnosis of the computer.

1. FIRST STEP: Find the pinout of the pieces to connect to the test bench. Software and manuals are included with the
Test Bank where you can get enough pinouts to start working with the team. If the pinout of the computer you wish to
test does not appear, you should search other software / manuals until you get it.

Watch out: A bad connection can cause damage to both the computer and the Test Bank

At the end of this section are the pinouts of the computers and modules that we will use, here we will place the
“Summary” of pins to use:

2. CONNECTION OF THE PC M TO THE TEST BENCH:

We connect the Test Bank to an external power source.

We put the 12V / + 30 and 12V SW / + 15 switche in the OFF position (completely down).

We connect all the pins of the PCM to the test stand except pins 27, 28, 29 and 30 of the PCM. We will make this
connection as follows:

PCM TEST BENCH

CONNECTOR FUNCTION PIN # CONECTOR FUNCTION PIN #

(*) This car model does not use MAF sensor. However, the MAF signal simulated by the Test Bench is the same as the one the
PCM receives from the oil pressure sensor. Making this connection we can simulate different oil pressure variations by varying
the knob of the Analog MAF Sensor.

(**) To connect this signal we will respect the positions to which the signals arrive according to the DLC pinout

Up to this point we can turn on the Test Bench by means of the 12V / + 30 switch (simulates that we connect the
positive terminal of the battery), after about 5 seconds we can simulate that we turn the ignition switch to the “RUN” position (
switche 12V SW / + 15) and we will see how the warning light of the petrol pump relay is activated for approximately 3 seconds.

We proceed to load the Jeep 4.0L signal to the test bench (explained in the CKP / CMP simulator manual).

With both active signals (+30 and +15) we can activate the CKP / CMP signal (explained in the CKP / CMP simulator
manual) and we will see how the pulses in injectors are activated in the Test Bench, it is activated and the warning light of the
petrol pump relay is fixed. If we vary the temperature of the ECT we can see how the indicator light of the electric fan relay (FAN
H) is activated.

Once the operation has been verified, we can connect the following additional modules:

Scanner
SKIM
Cluster

3. CONNECTION OF THE DLC TO THE TEST BENCH:

Now we will connect the DLC. As we know, DB15 connectors are all connected in parallel, so the pinout for everyone is
the same. We also know that DB15 connectors are connected to connector 1 on pins 6 to 13 and 19 to 25, so since we have
already connected the PCM communication lines to connector 1 we only need to connect the DLC to any of the DB15 in order to
scan the ECU as indicated below:

DLC TEST BENCH

CONNECTOR FUNCTION PIN # CONNECTOR FUNCTION PIN #
GND 4 GND 4
GND 5 GND 4

DLC CCD- TCM / Cluster data 11 DB15 --- 11
CCD+ TCM / Cluster data 3 --- 3
Transmission of SCI/ISO9141K 7 --- 7
Receiving SCI 6 K Line 6

With this connection we can leave the +30 and +15 switches active, connect the scanner to the DB15 and scan the PCM.
In this way we can scan the PCM, read the data in real time, make schedules, etc..

4. CONNECTION OF THE SKIM TO THE TEST BENCH :

Next the SKIM connection:

SKIM TEST BENCH

CONNECTOR FUNCTION PIN # CONNECTOR FUNCTION PIN #

CCD- TCM / Cluster data 5 --- 11
CCD+ TCM / Cluster data 6 --- 3

If the computer works with immobilizer with this connection, we can start it with pulses in both injectors and ignition
coils. We can also program the SKIM and add new keys using the appropriate scanner / programmer that we have already
connected in the previous step.
