LESSON: SALUDOS EN ESPAÑOL – GREETINGS IN SPANISH

- ¡Hola! Chicos y chicas…. Hello Boys and Girls, Bienvenido a la clase de

español. A very warm welcome to the Spanish class.
- So, what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about
Spanish?... it could be.. a sport, food, music etc or anything muy bien very
good seems like you are already aware about a lot of things.
- Hoy Vamos a aprender los saludos Today we are going to learn the greetings
in Spanish
- I will be reading the greetings and you will repeat after me
- Before we start I just want to let you that as we have tum and aap similarly
we have usted and tu in Spanish
- Now we are going to start with the Greetings
- Hola – Hello
- Buenos días – Good morning
- Buenas tardes – Good afternoon or Good evening
- Buenas noches – Good Night
- After we say Good morning, hello,or Good afternoon we will ask How is
someone or How are you or How do you do ?
- ¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás tú? tum
- Hello How are you?
- Cómo está usted? (Aap) Hello How are you? Formal
- Other greetings are ? ¿qué tal? Can be used in formal or Informal both other
greeting words when you are saying good bye and trying to see off like
Hasta pronto, Adios, Gracias –Thank Adios-Bye Hasta Pronto-See you soon.
-
- Alright, ahora vamos a repetir.
- Please repeat after me.
- Hola, Juan Hello John
- Hola María – Hi Maria
- Ok, Now we are going to learn to elaborate more on greetings part and we
would see what extra or other phrases do we use in Spanish. So in greetings
we could see that
- Buenos días is Good day
- Buenas tardes- Good afternoon/Good Evening
- Buenas noches – Good Night
- So you see that there is a continuity of the word Buenos/Buenas so Buenos
días – Good day , Buenas Tardes – Good evening so Tardes is Evening or
Good afternoon, can be used for afternoon as well. Buenas noches – it is like
good night so the word Noches is Night.
- Similarly to go ahead and learn more about the greetings in Formal and
informal way look in Spanish Language, ah they are very friendly people
they express all their affection and their feeling through the language. So
they would use the word like Hola Guapa – Hi Beauty or they use the
diminutive for of it Hola Guapita- Hi Beauty, look now that is in very
positive way and not in a derogatory way or in another way but then in a
very positive way.
- Similarly we use the word like Señor, Señora, Señorita, these words you
might have heard few conversation in English and when you are reading or
watching some films in your local language also. We will see how they are
used, so in any formal greeting we will use these words like Hola Señor
Márquez – Hello Mr. Márquez
- Hola Señora Guadalupe – hellos Misses Guadalupe
- Hola Señorita Ines – Hi Miss Ines.
- So these words – Señor is Mr. Señora is Misses and Señorita is Miss.
- More to learn in the greeting parts when we are trying to see off somebody
or in the conversation then we use the words like
- Hasta Pronto
- Hasta mañana
- Hasta Pronto – See you soon
- Hasta mañana – See you tomorrow
- Hasta el lunes – see you on Monday
- So el lunes is Monday
Similarly we can use the anyday of the week to indicate that when we will
see next time Hasta el viernes see you on Friday. Hasta ahora so ahora
means if you are going to meet someone in few moments of time then we
use the Word “Hasta Ahora) o another Word is like to say goodbye – Adios.

Also when we meet someone for the first time we either say ‘Mucho gusto’
or ‘Encantado/a (if it’s a lady), to say ‘nice meeting you’.
Hello Now we are going to start with the Important part of the or the first
initial part of the Language – to learn the alphabet in Spanish.
Needless to say that the importance of the Alphabets- or el abacedario is
very important part of Learning a language.
Muy Bien, I would include the teaching through Power Point slides and will
also have the phonetics symbol and phonetics transcription of the word

particular alphabet or the sound .

much from Spanish which means Festival. Few other Icons which a very popular,
very well know like Che Guevara he is one of the icon from the Hispanic World.
