A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Exercise Physiology

Julie-Mar V. Labaclado
Teacher

I. Objectives:
Through online discussions and activities, the 2nd year BPEd students are expected
to do the following with at least 85% accuracy:
A. Cognitive: Identify the goals and importance of exercise physiology.
B. Affective: Appreciate the significance of acute and chronic responses to all of our
body systems.
C. Psychomotor: Perform exercises and determine its acute response and chronic
adaptations.

II. Subject Matter:

A. Topic: Exercise Physiology
B. Materials: Computer or mobile device, internet data, Moodle as Learning
Management System, google drive, social media platforms

II. Procedures:
A. Activity: The teacher will present four pictures about acute response and
chronic adaptation to exercise taken from online platforms like Google and
Facebook. Each picture is related on Exercise Physiology. The students will
analyze the pictures and answer the following questions:
1. What do you think is acute response to exercise? chronic adaptation to
exercise?

B. Analysis: The teacher will ask the students to review their answers in the
activity conducted. The pictures express message about the significance of acute
and chronic responses to all of our body systems. To widen the students'
understanding of the lesson, the teacher will ask the following questions:
1. What do you think are the differences of acute responses and chronic
physiological adaptations?
2. What do you mean by acute responses?
3. What are chronic physiological adaptations?
4. Why do you think we need to study exercise physiology?

C. Abstraction: After analyzing the pictures and answering the questions, the
teacher will now upload a file that consists of the following information about
Exercise Physiology in the Learning Management System:
1. Definition of Exercise Physiology
2. Introduction to Acute physiological response and chronic physiological
adaptations
3. Importance of Acute physiological response and Chronic physiological
adaptations

D. Application: The teacher will administer an activity applying acute

physiological response and chronic physiological adaptations to exercise. The
students will show the significance of acute and chronic responses to all of our
body systems. The students will make their own set of exercises that will help
them recognize and develop a better understanding of what the body’s
responses are to physical activity. It will be done through making a video of
their selves executing exercises and to be uploaded in the google drive, copy
the link and attach it to the Learning Management System.

The final output of the students will be rated using the criteria below:
