Topic U.S Cold War

Research Question Is popular opinion of Kennedy & Nixon justified based on how they
handled the cold war, civil rights movement and the Vietnam War ?

N.B. RQ must be tightly focused, worthy of study, and feasible

within the scope of 4000 words.

I chose this question because my favorite war to study is the cold war
and I’m very interested in the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War
is a very controversial war in the United States which I would like to
explore. Moreover, I take a particular interest in presidencies
especially Kennedy’s and Nixon’s because they are both very famous
leaders who had to deal with the time when all these events were
going on. Also, people like to argue and judge who was the best
president of the two because, these were presidents that had famous
discussions like the 1960 debate that arguably revolutionized politics
but people usually conclude that Nixon was terrible and Kennedy was
great, however, to what extent is this bias or factual/ reasonable
based on what they did.

Why is this worthy of Answering this question is valuable to understand what each of them
academic study? had to deal with as well as the history of the events from the
perspective of the people leading the country at the time and look at
them more objectively. Moreover, justify and analyze what each
president did and had to deal with as candidly as possible to debunk
social ideas conceived for each of them that may not necessarily be
justified
