MY JOURNEY Inspire a Shared Vision

When I first started on my personal
journey as as an Emerging Leader, I
thought it would be scary, like a haunted
house. But, as Scooby Doo has taught us,
what appears to be scary at first is not
actually a threat. BHLP has taught me to
push through what scares you.There will
always be parts of leadership that scare
me, but that is part of the journey. I also
look up to the gang because they are a
great example of a team.Though each
character has their flaws, each one has
something to offer to the team.
• Fred envisions new ways to trap monsters a gets and
gets everybody involved in his trap planning.
• When I work on my Odyssey team I encourage my team
to aim for Worlds and complete quality work
Challenge the Process
• When Scooby Doo dresses up in wacky costumes to
catch villains, he challenges the process of crime solving
• I make an effort to speak up in silent classes and answer
difficult questions even in large lecture halls
Enable Others to Act
• Daphne uses Scooby Snacks to develop trust on the
team
• I build relationships by making an effort to ask people
about their day and take time to listen to their thoughts

Encourage the Heart

• Velma recognizes that without the help of Shaggy and
Scooby being a part of the plan, nothing would have
worked out
• I run mentoring sessions for other Odyssey teams and
am always sure to point out great answers at the end
