BB Trial Lesson 01: Fruits (K1)

1. How did she greet the student?

 Tutor used PowerPoint Presentation to Welcome the Student in the class (with
Chinese translations).

 Tutor expressed a very warmth smile while waving (TPR) and saying “Hello” to
the student. Thru this gesture/s, student wil really feel that he is welcome in the
classroom. She used basic Chinese words too, like: Ni hao? And Wan shang hao.
This act will not only make the student understand that she greeted him, but he
will also feel comfortable towards his tutor. (We can see their smiles, right?)

 She also gave reward/s to the student when necessary. We can also see /
observe here the Chinese translations, I mentioned above.
  Played English Song. This is a good way to built rapport as well. While playing
the song, tutor also showed TPR and sang excerpts of the song. This will
encourage the student to do the same.

2. How is her TPR?

 Used TPR greatly and exaggeratedly .

3. How did she use Manycam/props?

 Tutor is using ManyCam.
 Tutor used simple effects in ManyCam, however, she used it well.

 Used digital props. As we can see here, teacher, showed a picture of an apple
thru ManyCam. This is good for visual type learners.
 4. When student didn’t know how to say the word? How did she do?
 Used translations to make learning easier.
 Used songs to enhance and speed up learning. This is really good especially
for auditory learners.

5. How did she check student's understanding?

 Used ICQ (Instruction-Checking Questions) and CCQ (Concept-Checking

Questions).
 Expressed gestures of affirming students understanding.
 Praised and rewarded the student.

6. What’s the difference between your class and her class?

 I am using ManyCam and other digital stuffs to make the classroom more
engaging. I use music too and TPR’s but I guess I need to do more on my
TPRs and ManyCam, make it simple but productive.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK: Teacher is very enthusiastic as we can see. She is well prepared. Materials
need are at hand. That’s a good example of a teacher. I have also observed in the feedback part, she
utelized well the A-Classroom. She used the whiteboard feature to give feedbacks and comments.
Encouraged the student to become better. Reward system is really impressive! Bid farewell politely.
We can alsoobserved the reactions of the father and how happy and proud he is knowing the
