 1 Describe the role of teachers in the development of human governance
and citizenship in terms of knowledge and thinking skills.

There are many roles a teacher can play in the development of human
governance and citizenship in terms of knowledge and skills.

As a teacher, he himself is a must master and have ample knowledge

of subject area or beyond that. For example to ensure students master the
phonics, a teacher should know how to deliver the sounds and students are
able to comprehend and use it. It is soon benefit and help them in reading.
Apart from that, a teacher should enhance students’ ability to think critically and
apply the skills accordingly. This is very important skill a student need to
develop. Thinking skills is very crucial in classroom setting because students
have to understand and comprehend what has been taught and they can apply
what they have learned accordingly. For an example, a teacher can elevate
thinking ability among students by giving them a problem based learning
whereby students have to solve the task given.

To sum up, the teacher has to master the specialised pedagogical

skills, explore the multi-mode learning model in order to implement in their T&L
processes. Besides that, a teacher should also initiate students’ thinking skills
to a higher level. These are the means to cater to students’ needs from
effective and interactive teaching and learning processes. Hence, teachers play
the vital role in providing knowledge and best education to students aligned
with the National Philosophy of Education.

2 Discuss how the aspects of developing national identity and patriotism

become a very important task for teachers to produce human capital and

 assets of national development.

Developing national identity and patriotism is very important task for

teachers to produce valuable human capital and assets which are very much
important for national development.

A teacher should instill national identity among students by inculcating

sense of pride, dignity and responsible to our country. . For example, by
reciting Rukun Negara during assembly may instill the awareness and
encourage the spirit of patriotism among students. Besides that, a teacher
should always impart the, awareness of other culture and beliefs regardless of
their race, background family or geological background. For instance a teacher
can design their teaching and learning session that involves with history of the
country, our heroes who brought freedom to Tanah Melayu in order to instill the
national identity and patriotism spirit among students.

To sum up, there many ways and measures to be taken by a teacher to

develop and instill national identity and patriotism among students which are
inculcate and the sense of pride, dignity and responsible towards our country,
instill the awareness of other cultures and beliefs and instilling the spirit of
patriotism among students.
