OBJECTIVES
-Objective of this experiment is how to calculate inductive reactance based on voltage,V and
current,I.

B.APPARATUS

-Function generator
-Oscilloscope
-Multimeter
-Connection wire
-RCL circuit

C.THEORY

-This experiment is about the form in which electric power is delivered to businesses and
residences and it is the form of electrical energy that consumers typically use.

D.PROCEDURE

1-Switch on the power and set the power to 5K.Then,set the output.
2-Do the connection as shown in figure.
3-Set the voltmeter to 20V for alternating current.
4-Set the ammeter to 200 mA for alternating current.
5-Set the frequency at 500 Hz.
6-Take the readings of voltmeter and ammeter.
7-Repeat the step 5 with different frequency that given in the table 1.

G. Discussion

i) From the gradient, compute the inductance of the coil, L

L = XL
2π f
= 0.0437
(2)(3.142) (500)
L =0.0486 henry(H)

ii) Compare the calculated value with the given value (inductor (8.2 mH) by
calculating the percentage difference. Explain the percentage difference.

Cv = 4.86mH
Gv = 8.2Mh

Difference = 8.2-4.86
= 3.34
Percentage Difference = 3.34 X 100%
8.2

= 40.73%

There has a huge difference percentage as the result above because the circuit still
have concealed resistance that cause difference value in calculate value.

H. Conclusion

In conclusion,from this experiment it shows when the frequency,voltage and current

increase,it influence inductive reactant to also increase.It because changes in current
flow.We also see that there is a small percent of difference between the measure
impedance and the calculated impedance.This because of human and equipment error.
