Backgroud/Introduction :
Cassiterite is the main mineral of tin ore with the formula SnO2, which is bluish-
silver, which is easy to react, tin has a low melting point so it is widely used by humans.
Mineral processing can also be referred to as mineral processing technology,
which is the process of processing minerals, namely to separate valuable minerals from
their less valuable impurity minerals by utilizing the different physical properties of
these minerals without changing the chemical and physical identity of the product.
In general, the tin ore processing at PT X consists of two processes, namely the
dry process and the wet process. In this process, it begins with tin ore received from the
onshore mine, vibrating screen is carried out after that it is separated using an air table,
this process is called the dry process. After the dry process is followed by a wet process
using a shaking table.
Shaking table is a separation tool using the principle of differences in density.
This tool is used in tin ore processing to process low grade tin ore with fine grains into
tin ore with Sn content according to PT X's standards.
In June-August 2019 this tool was not used at PT X due to a breakdown. PT X
plans to use this tool again in September. In order to produce optimal results, a re-
assessment of the variables that affect the shaking table is carried out, as for these
variables, namely the slope of the deck, the length of the stroke, the water discharge,
the speed of the movement of the deck and the speed of feeding. However, in this study
only focused on sl
The slope of the deck greatly affects the speed of water flow. If the slope is too
large, it will result in a fast water flow rate, with a fast flow, light particles will be carried
away by the water so that only heavy minerals are left behind and produce high-grade
products but little concentrate gain. On the other hand, a small slope will result in a slow
water flow velocity, with a slow flow, a lower grade product will be produced with more
concentrate gain.
Research on shaking tables for processing tin ore has been conducted by
previous researchers. In this study, the focus of the study was on the variable deck slope
and stroke length. The results of his research show that the higher the table, the greater
the level but with low recovery. The optimal stroke length is found at a stroke length of
17 mm.

Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum slope angle of the
shaking table for processing tin ore derived from middling air table products.

Method :
The method used in this research is the Shaking Table .

Material :
The material used in this study is a midling product that has been processed by
air tables

Result :
Shaking Table is one of the tools used in the mineral separation process based
on specific gravity. The main part of the shaking table is the slightly tilted deck, which
works because of the shock force and wash water which can increase the content with
grain size> 100 mesh. The forces that act on this tool are the gravitational force, the
friction force, and the driving force of the fluid. Factors that affect the shaking table
performance are the slope of the deck, the water discharge, the frequency of the deck
movement, the feeding speed, and the length of the blows. The variable that will be
changed is the slope of the deck due to the slope of the deck, which is the main factor
affecting the processing of tin ore in this shaking table.
Based on the results of the experiment above, it is found that the highest level is
at a slope of 2,260o, but the resulting recovery is low, whereas the highest recovery is at
a slope of 0.753o, but the concentration is low. The initial feed of each experiment
contained more fine grain sizes. A slope that is too large will result in slightly finer
valuable minerals falling into the tailling, while a small slope will result in most of the
bait falling into the concentrate. The optimal slope is found at a slope of 1.507o by
producing an average concentration of 65% sn, recovey with an average of 39% and low
tailings with an average of 1.7% due to the slope getting a high enough concentration
and recovery. In addition, the tin ore content that is wasted into the tailling tends to be
low, so that the slope has a large effect on the grade and recovery obtained from the
ore processing process where the greater the slope, the less weight of concentrate
produced and the concentration of concentrate tends to be as high, and vice versa.
Shaking table can increase the level of Sn from <20% to 40-60%.

Conclusion :
Based on the results and discussion of the research that has been carried out, it
is concluded that the slope of the shaking table has a large effect on processing results
where the greater the slope, the more concentrate is wasted into the tilling and the
smaller the slope, the lower the concentration of concentrate tends to be.
