‹ After completion of adjusting the Control & Power box in steering gear
room…
‹ Adjustment on the ZERO & SPAN of output θ signal from CAN ADAPTER
(ZERO:VR2, SPAN:VR1 on CAN ADAPTER BD)
‹ Adjustment on the indication of HAND STEERING UNIT

Adjustment of CAN ADAPTER (Connection)
‹ The ammeter is connected in
series between CAN ADAPTER
and C&P box.
‹ The acceptable error range of θ
output is within ±0.05mA from
target value.
‹ VR1 and VR2 on CAN ADAPTER
are multi-rotation volumes.

‹ While the “Enable” is selected, the steering mode is automatically set


to “AUTO” and kept this mode.
‹ Once the screen is returned to the previous one, the simulated signal
is stopped. That means “Commanded rudder output” is returned to
“Disable” automatically.
‹ The output range of commanded rudder angle is P35 to S35 every 1
degree. (It doesn’t depend on the ship’s own rudder angle range.)

Adjustment procedure of HAND STEERING UNIT
‹ Confirmation of the deviation on rudder angle indication between HAND
STEERING UNIT and APCDU
‹ This is the adjustment for the deviation of indication between HAND
STEERING UNIT and APCDU.
¾ This is NOT the adjustment for the deviation between the actual
rudder angle signal and order one.
‹ Adjustment of HAND STEERING UNIT means the ZERO & SPAN setting
of magnetic encoder to indicate on APCDU correspondently.
‹ All magnetic encoders can be synchronized by one execution.

Middle point correction of HAND STEERING UNIT
‹ In case of the ship with wide rudder angle control…
‹ “9 HAND wheel position 1st” is set “Disable” to narrow rudder angle and
‹ “10 HAND wheel position 2nd” is set to wide rudder angle.
‹ After above operation, narrow and wide rudder angle are selectable on
“1 HAND wheel position”.
‹ Following table shows the example of 20/70 degrees.
‹ We recommend that “8 Wide Angle Limit” is wide angle +0.8 degrees.
